Sometimes, for no apparent reason, the universe just does you a solid. Something to let you know its still cares. Good karma paid off today in the form of French minimal techno and house producer, Max Duke’s absolutely storming “Echoes EP” which found its way into my inbox, the second single from his upcoming album.
Usually, there are one or two good mixes on a release, but this latest offering from Redlight Music out of Berlin scores 100%. Each mix is unique and amazing in its own right while still paying homage to Duke’s original, an ebb & flow of slowly building overdriven synths over a solid house groove.
Berlin based Subjected’s heavier vision delivers a rolling techno banger with a massive kick groove guaranteed to get bodies moving. Following the original, Canadian Measure Divide augments reality, offering a distorted, more industrial flavour. Closing proceeding, Andy Martin delivers, what is for me, the best mix on the release. Cheekily crafting a subtle, groovy leftfield techno rerub of Max’s second single.
