LV Premier – Tasha LaRae & Rhemi – #FridayFeeling & Album Review
Perhaps best known for being part of the brilliant 2x grammy nominated band Arrested Development Tasha LaRae steps out here with a full solo album on DJ Spen’s Quantize label. The album simply titled Tasha features 20 tracks in it’s digital form from hot of the press originals to wonderful covers and club destined remixes. It’s an album packed with a multitude of top class collaborations including tracks with DJ Spen, Jihad Muhammad & Opolopo.
Kicking the album off Tasha gives us the wonderful Wish I Didn’t Miss You with a little help from DJ Spen. A cover of a modern classic from Angie Stone it’s a big call but Tasha delivers with some verve, there is soul and feeling aplenty. You can check out our premier of the John Morales mix of the track below from his recent All Q’d Up Vol 2 release.
Next up and our premier today is the wonderfully soulful #Fridayfeeling a truly classic house track with a mountain of 90’s cool packed in there.
It’s a packed album fusing feel good straight to the dancefloor disco influenced house cuts such as the Opolopo remix of I need your lovin’ a cover of Teena Marie’s much loved classic next to RnB anthems like the powerful Caught in the middle featuring Speech.
There is plenty of classic soulful house on show here too DJ Spen’s edit of Tasha and Sebb Juniors Never Be Alone is a stand out, as is Space to move with Earl Tutu & John Khan.
This is a wonderfully well rounded album fusing multiple genres from across the soulful spectrum with some truly fantastic vocal performances from Tasha.
