Hot on of Proxy‘s December EP, Collusion, comes HIGH / EZY TING. Proof that the producer is far from done with the electronic release ring and the bass house enthusiasts that it routinely attracts, the EP comprises two namesake cuts, “HIGH” and “EZY TING.”

Reverberating bass is part and parcel of the project, which exudes Proxy’s wonky approach to hybridization. This is particularly apparent on “EZY TING,” with its gravelly whirls of sound and siren samples. A growling, near-spoken vocal unifies both “HIGH” and “EZY TING” in a grit that roughs up the ’ smoother house moments. Shrill, sharp work adds texture to “HIGH,” as Proxy deals yet hand of heavy bass house heaters.
