An infectious live act taking inspiration from the likes of Jamiroquai, Flying Lotus, Parcels and Kaytranada; the six-piece have continued to solidify themselves as one of the rawest, most energetic and vibrant live acts to come out of Brisbane in recent years.

With bedroom roots dating back to early 2016, the project began as the solo project of David Versace, writing, recording and producing the arrangements before bringing the tracks to the band to further expand upon. After releasing their first EP ‘Press!’ in the summer of 20(17) the band’s unique sound began to turn heads. Their groove driven and evolving split single ‘Vivid/Images’ premiered to a sold out Foundry and they took their first ever tour down the east coast.

‘Details’ sees First Beige further foray into the house / jazz melting pot. Moody uncertainty lifts to resolve and confidence reigns supreme. There’s spacey saxophone journeys, horror movie strings and a pulse of conviction. The track is First Beige’s first release of an exciting 2019.

First Beige is David Versace, Troy Doolan, Jasper Gunderson, Julia Beiers, Cain Robertson and Oscar Borschmann.

&lt:a target=&quot:_blank&quot: href=&quot:https://www.facebook.com/LoefahOfficial/&quot:&gt:Loefah&lt:/a&gt: (Swamp81, DMZ, Deep MEDi/UK)

In recent years, the predominant tendency on UK dancefloors has been to defy genre, instead drawing for music with a common sense of adventure or experimentation. Loefah has been one of the key and most successful figures in that movement. Having started his career as one of early dubstep’s pioneering producers and part of the Digital Mystikz collective, he became frustrated with the genre’s limitations, so began playing and releasing (through his label Swamp81) tracks that stripped away all excess fat to leave only bass and itchy drum machine rhythms.

“It’s almost like it was a back to basics sound – everything went back to the original traditions of electronic music,” Loefah says of the Swamp81 aesthetic. “People are exploring the roots of dance music and putting a new twist on it, and through that, it’s gone through different tempos and categories – house, techno and electro. It’s been quite exploratory I think.” He likens the openness and energy of the music he plays now to the early days of dubstep, when “it wasn’t really a genre – it was more about fresh, cutting edge music.”&lt:/span&gt:

&lt:span&gt:Join us for a 60 minute feature length show with one of the favourites from Season 10.

Miz Cracker makes her Australian &amp:amp: NZ One Woman debut with her brand new show, American Woman.

“I’m excited to premiere American Woman because it brings attention to women’s rights at a critical moment. And it feels right to create something that speaks to the people who make up most of my audience – women. In the past year I’ve traveled alot, and I’ve seen how women around the world support drag and queer people. And I want to give something back.” Miz Cracker

Cracker will use comedy and performance to open a discussion upon the way in which drag queens and gay men can become better allies to women in an age where feminism is more important than ever.

This show was previously It’s Time, however Miz Cracker decided to bring her brand new Show American Woman in it’s place.&lt:/span&gt:

&lt:span&gt:IWTFA Returns in Brisbane Friday 24th May at Wall Street

Back in 2017 we hosted Machine with Simon Slieker &amp:amp: Lateral at the Milton Warehouse which was one of ours and your favourite events so we have decided to bring two of the most respected machine producers and DJs

Juan Tellez &amp:amp: return of Lateral

Lateral

If you're keen fan of Melbourne techno, there is a strong chance that you've heard the name 'Lateral' in the last couple of years. Lateral, the creation Melbourne-based DJ and Producer Matthew Drape, is the alternate alias for Matthew's darker and more experimental techno releases: with his previous, more melodic productions having been released under his first alias of 'Backroom Reality'.

There is not a whole lot to say when it comes down to him explaining the musical background behind his work or what his sources of inspiration are. Instead, he prefers to remain quite modest and relatively humble about his productions. Spending a significant portion of his downtime locked away in his studio – he sits there crafting dark, thunderous and high quality techno for the aural pleasure of his listeners and fans alike.

Lateral has a handful of remarkable releases under his belt so far, most of them residing on Melbourne-based record label 'Machine': the label he proudly calls his home. Recently, he was happy to be brought on board to help with dealings with the label by fellow crew, Andrew Till and Simon Sleiker.

Over the last couple of years, Matt has released several EP's on Machine – Including not only original compositions and remixes, but also a couple of collaborative works with fellow Melbourne producer and local techno heavyweight: D-Rex.

His latest EP on Machine, “Fermion”, is a hypnotic and deep combination of busy chugging techno full of atmosphere and depth. It features remixes by The Black Moy and Ground Loop.

In addition to his Machine releases: Lateral has released a standout EP on Melbourne/Glasgow based record label, One4SevenOne Records, called “Altitude” (released back in 2014) and his track “Fractal” was featured on One4SevenOne's “Melbourne Sampler A” compilation in 2015.

Matt has supported the likes of DVS1, Enrico Sangiuliano, Tripeo, Knobs, Luis Flores and many others – but he always enjoys performing alongside his fellow Melbourne techno artists and DJ's, and often his favourite gigs to play are the nights held by Machine. Previous events that Lateral has Djed at include Machine Halloween, Unfold 002, Machine 26 &amp:amp: Billion Underground Presents Tripeo [Live]. His latest set was at the highly esteemed Rainbow Serpent Festival, where he helped celebrate Rainbow's 20 year celebration. Bringing in the sunrise on the sunset stage Saturday morning.

Juan Tellez

Growing up in the mid 90’s rave scene in Nelson, New Zealand, Juan became hooked on the sounds of Hardcore, and then found his soul in the form of Jungle. He then amassed a formidable vinyl collection and subsequently DJ’d around NZ in clubs such as Bath St in Dunedin, and the infamous Fu Bar in Auckland.

His subsequent move into production saw several D&amp:amp:B/170bpm tunes released under the ‘Tellez’ moniker, yet it was an experiment into the techno genre six years ago which prompted an entire musical shift into the current 4/4 output of ‘Juan Tellez’. His versatility as a DJ and producer sees him playing and producing across the spectrum of techno (and occasionally minimal/tech), usually leaning towards a darker yet uplifting, atmospheric and grittier sound.

Now based in Melbourne, Juan consistently releases music on labels such as Machine, One4SevenOne, and Bosom. He plays out regularly in clubs and festivals around Australia, New Zealand and overseas. Select events he has performed at include Rainbow Serpent Festival, Dragon Dreaming Festival, Luminate Festival, End of the Line, and Off the Radar, as well as numerous club nights in Melbourne for outfits such as Machine, Bunker, and stranger. Strong support for his releases can be seen from the likes of Richie Hawtin, DJ Hell, Thomas Schumacher, and many more...

The Disco Fix Launch Party is happening Saturday, September 22nd 2018, from 4-10PM.

When you think disco party - you think flares, mirror balls & cheesy 70’s chart hits. Forget that. It’s time for something different.

This spring, we’re bringing that feeling back with a digital edge. Think remixed disco, house and soulful music that’s fresh and current.

We’ll be hosting a series of pop-up events to take you back to the roots of dance music and allow you to capture that feeling of freedom to be yourself.

    • At first glance, Brisbane DJ DefWill appears to be going from strength to strength, balancing university studies, events management roles for festivals like Splendour in the Grass, Rabbits Eat Lettuce and Live Large, DJing some of the deepest techno rhythms at some of the primest techno parties on the east coast of Oz and also that he has never let the fact that he is deaf hold him back. Though if one takes the time to look (and talk) a little deeper it becomes clear that he, like many of us, carries burdens that are well beyond his control and the weight of which has been known to bring even the strongest of us down.

New OzClubbers writer Dastardly Kuts gets deep with DefWill.

    • From the DJ’s perspective; since Larry Levan’s early days at the Paradise Garage, the remix – or playing different versions of songs – was one of the first notable aspects of what we now know as DJ Culture. His ethic of refreshing successful dancefloor movers in the late seventies passed down generations of DJ has been long-established as almost a perfunctory task, almost a must-do to be undertaken by the disk jockey.

    • Here is a fresh new mix from us—and one that definitely gives us the warm and fuzzies!

So, our 'Attic' brand as a whole, the music we push—and, indeed, Andrew and I as individual DJs—is often centred around music on the lower, slower, deeper, warm-up tip. That is a label we've always worn with pride.

    • Recently I got to go check out the official Outlook Festival Queensland launch party in Brisbane. Presented by Quality Street Byron Bay, the event concept paid tribute to one of Europe’s most exciting Drum and Bass festivals and is a celebration of sound system culture.
