★ SASH 7th Birthday ★ Excessive Fancy Dress ★

★ S.A.S.H by Day ★
They say 7 is a lucky number. We don’t know who they are and frankly, we don’t care. What’s more important is that it’s our 7th birthday and we’d like you to come and celebrate with a MONSTER lineup of guests to wet more than your whistle.

Club years are like dog years, and that means we’re sitting on the human equivalent of about 47 years’ experience doing what we do. As such, the lineup below speaks volumes about where we’ve come from, and where we’re going musically, and we wouldn’t have made it this far without you all. Oh and as always, we don’t want you to just come, we want you to come fruity.

★★ IT'S OUR BIRTHDAY, WE STRONGLY INSIST YOU DRESS UP ★★ .. there will be an additional charge if you don't!

★ Djebali ★
A Parisian club kid in the early 2000s, Djebali has learnt from the best, and grown into the shoes he wears today as one of the most accomplished house producers from the city of love’s new generation of talent. Driven by his own self-titled imprint in 2011 and several sub-labels in the last few years, together with gigs at high-profile clubs around the globe and a back catalogue full of classic house grooves of the highest order - not to mention his 2016 debut album ‘5’ which has been rinsed like rain by all the world’s best. SASH is blessed once again to host monsieur Djebali, this time on the Terrace at Day.

★ Dj Steaw ★
Making a name for himself in all the right places, Paris based lord of the European summer, DJ Steaw has solidified his presence at clubs like Concrete and Rex Club, Tresor and IPSE, Studio 80 and Betoncentrale. Not shy of work behind the scenes, he and hometown friend Guunter launched Rutilance Recordings in 2013, which has since hosted the likes of themselves, Janeret, Ortella and Sunny Galaxy. Disco Steaw will be spewing some intergalactic house music onto the sunny terrace of Greenwood and it will not be one to miss.

★ Vinyl Speed Adjust ★
Fresh off the back of a string of a releases, their faultless back catalogue boasts a dominance of vinyl releases on the likes of Visionquest, Drumma Records, Pressure Traxx, Jesus Loved You and BodyParts records, and continues to draw support from industry genii such as Ricardo Villalobos, Rhadoo, Pedro, Raresh [a:rpia:r], Barac, Luciano, Ryan Crosson and Valentino Kanzyani. As demonstrated by their choice of pseudonym, the pair are vinyl aficionados, with both of their labels pushing out nothing short of sheer quality underground wax.

★ D-Nox ★
In between Berlin and Buenos Aires, D-Nox has been doing what he does since the early 90s, and his experience is shown in his DJ sets that have been known to treat the Australian shores in the past. D-Nox will be tearing apart the lair with his heavy sound, but don't worry we will keep him contained behind the laser cage.

★ ALCI ★
In 2013 ALCI broke through on Phil Week’s lauded Robsoul Recordings, and by the end of the year he had followed up the EP with a 3-part ‘Early Beginnings’ series for the imprint. Other labels quickly took an interest, leading Alci to put out music on Be As One (Shlomi Aber) and Infuse, the sub-label from FUSE. A self-professed vintage head, when it comes to his own productions he’s keen to strike the balance between analogue gear and new technology, also playing both vinyl and digital formats.

★ David Delgado ★
Colombian born with an eye for detail, it’s the little things that make David Delgado impressive – resulting in establishing himself in the upper level of the German capital’s underground firmament. His music is dryer, more minimal, its jazziness increasingly improvisational, with artfully manipulated chords, and basslines punctuated by the swell of mysterious orchestral stabs.

★ Pepperpot ★
The French Seagull, the master of spice, monsieur Pepperpot - a man we trust to open the floodgates of the glass de resistance.

    • At first glance, Brisbane DJ DefWill appears to be going from strength to strength, balancing university studies, events management roles for festivals like Splendour in the Grass, Rabbits Eat Lettuce and Live Large, DJing some of the deepest techno rhythms at some of the primest techno parties on the east coast of Oz and also that he has never let the fact that he is deaf hold him back. Though if one takes the time to look (and talk) a little deeper it becomes clear that he, like many of us, carries burdens that are well beyond his control and the weight of which has been known to bring even the strongest of us down.

    • From the DJ’s perspective; since Larry Levan’s early days at the Paradise Garage, the remix – or playing different versions of songs – was one of the first notable aspects of what we now know as DJ Culture. His ethic of refreshing successful dancefloor movers in the late seventies passed down generations of DJ has been long-established as almost a perfunctory task, almost a must-do to be undertaken by the disk jockey.

    • Here is a fresh new mix from us—and one that definitely gives us the warm and fuzzies!

So, our 'Attic' brand as a whole, the music we push—and, indeed, Andrew and I as individual DJs—is often centred around music on the lower, slower, deeper, warm-up tip. That is a label we've always worn with pride.

    • Recently I got to go check out the official Outlook Festival Queensland launch party in Brisbane. Presented by Quality Street Byron Bay, the event concept paid tribute to one of Europe’s most exciting Drum and Bass festivals and is a celebration of sound system culture.
