★ S.A.S.H by Day ★

Warm, comfortable analogue grooves will permeate the Terrace at SASH By Day, with Rotarydisco opening proceedings. If that hasn’t wet your proverbial whistle, we know someone who has the sounds that will. Veteran house lord Ian Pooley takes the helm, before a very special Secret Guest brings it home to a close.

★ Ian Pooley ★
Over twenty years into his career, Ian Pooley continues to embody the heart and soul of real house music. With five artist albums under his belt, Pooley has perfected the balance of classic and contemporary sounds in his ever-evolving production work. As a favourite of house & techno fans and DJs, Pooley remains a highly regarded and respected figure in modern electronic music. A true analogue head, his studio-bound sounds will resonate on a higher level with the open-air Terrace at SASH By Day.

★ S.A.S.H by Night ★

Night is alllll about our friends from France – It’s Rex Club’s 30th, and that’s no mean feat in our industry. We suspect that our guests in the Terrace had a little something to do with the success of Rex Club, and that they will have a little something to do with the success of this particular episode of SASH By Night. Musically, the Terrace will be on fire from start to finish, with the greased up French Fry Pepperpot opening it up for the man D'julz to take it home.

The Den sees something old and something new (the colour of the room can be something blue). Miguel Cooper makes his SASH debut, while SASH resident Kerry Wallace does what he does best, as the blue room takes flight.

★ D'julz ★
There are DJs, and then there are DJ’s DJ's. Julien Veniel, artist name D'julz, is undoubtedly one of the latter - a true craftsman behind the decks whose admirable skill is his ability to go beyond mere genres and trends, deciding instead to actively shape the ever-changing soundscape of electronic music through his own productions, DJ performances and parties. Alongside Laurent Garnier and Dj Deep, D'Julz has been pioneering the French electronic scene for decades – and we welcome him back with open arms once again to the Terrace.

★ Pepperpot ★
The Weasel is back. Ducking and weaving his way towards the Terrace – and with good reason too. It’s the Parisian house music stronghold – Rex Club’s 30th Birthday, and you better believe our man Pepperpot has had something to do with its longevity and influence. Catch him tear apart the Terrace with ami D'julz.

    • At first glance, Brisbane DJ DefWill appears to be going from strength to strength, balancing university studies, events management roles for festivals like Splendour in the Grass, Rabbits Eat Lettuce and Live Large, DJing some of the deepest techno rhythms at some of the primest techno parties on the east coast of Oz and also that he has never let the fact that he is deaf hold him back. Though if one takes the time to look (and talk) a little deeper it becomes clear that he, like many of us, carries burdens that are well beyond his control and the weight of which has been known to bring even the strongest of us down.

    • From the DJ’s perspective; since Larry Levan’s early days at the Paradise Garage, the remix – or playing different versions of songs – was one of the first notable aspects of what we now know as DJ Culture. His ethic of refreshing successful dancefloor movers in the late seventies passed down generations of DJ has been long-established as almost a perfunctory task, almost a must-do to be undertaken by the disk jockey.

    • Here is a fresh new mix from us—and one that definitely gives us the warm and fuzzies!

So, our 'Attic' brand as a whole, the music we push—and, indeed, Andrew and I as individual DJs—is often centred around music on the lower, slower, deeper, warm-up tip. That is a label we've always worn with pride.

    • Recently I got to go check out the official Outlook Festival Queensland launch party in Brisbane. Presented by Quality Street Byron Bay, the event concept paid tribute to one of Europe’s most exciting Drum and Bass festivals and is a celebration of sound system culture.
