Lucky Number 7 ft. Gabri-L (7 Hour Set)

Welcome to the first in a series of our Lucky Number 7 concept parties. Lucky Number 7 will provide an opportunity for our much loved and followed residents to perform a very special and very extended 7 hour journey set. For almost 2 years now Warehouse3000 shows have become renowned for showcasing an amazing range of underground sounds across the sound spectrum and Lucky Number 7 will be our residents platform to take you on an all- night journey to remember.

Having risen to fame in the local Melbourne techno scene as the crazy cat behind Monday parties at the much loved Breakfast club, Gabri-L shines with an unrivalled passion and commitment to keeping the underground vibe not only alive in Melbourne but thriving.

Gabri-L joined the W3k crew at its summer closing party in 2017 at the infamous Railway Hotel Brunswick. With the sound system set up in the courtyard ‘Gabri’ as he is affectionately known played an extended 3 hour set of his signature minimal techno and deep, funky grooves that had the crowd grooving non-stop.

There was no turning back and Gabri has since then held down an important spot in the W3K resident line-up that see’s him have a regular following of fans at our weekly parties. We look forward to seeing him take the next step in his dj career as we host him for what will be a memorable 7 hour +marathon journey. At our very first Luncky Number 7 show!!!

    • At first glance, Brisbane DJ DefWill appears to be going from strength to strength, balancing university studies, events management roles for festivals like Splendour in the Grass, Rabbits Eat Lettuce and Live Large, DJing some of the deepest techno rhythms at some of the primest techno parties on the east coast of Oz and also that he has never let the fact that he is deaf hold him back. Though if one takes the time to look (and talk) a little deeper it becomes clear that he, like many of us, carries burdens that are well beyond his control and the weight of which has been known to bring even the strongest of us down.

    • From the DJ’s perspective; since Larry Levan’s early days at the Paradise Garage, the remix – or playing different versions of songs – was one of the first notable aspects of what we now know as DJ Culture. His ethic of refreshing successful dancefloor movers in the late seventies passed down generations of DJ has been long-established as almost a perfunctory task, almost a must-do to be undertaken by the disk jockey.

    • Here is a fresh new mix from us—and one that definitely gives us the warm and fuzzies!

So, our 'Attic' brand as a whole, the music we push—and, indeed, Andrew and I as individual DJs—is often centred around music on the lower, slower, deeper, warm-up tip. That is a label we've always worn with pride.

    • Recently I got to go check out the official Outlook Festival Queensland launch party in Brisbane. Presented by Quality Street Byron Bay, the event concept paid tribute to one of Europe’s most exciting Drum and Bass festivals and is a celebration of sound system culture.
