A 12-year-old has won DMC’s World DJ Championship

    OzClubbers

Sorry, A-Trak, but your record has just been smashed.

A 12-year-old scratch artist by the name of DJ Rena has taken out DMC’s World DJ Championship in London last night, becoming the youngest winner in the 30-year history of the competition.

He took over the record from A-Trak, who famously won back in 1997 when he was just 15. Rena now joins the ranks of previous winners such as DJ Craze, Mixmaster Mike, and Cash Money. Rena beat out competitors from over 16 countries to take home the gong; French spinner DJ Skillz and New Zealand’s DJ Spell came in at #2 and #3, respectively.

See just how Rena took out the prize below — his routine starts from the 54-minute mark.

It’s finally comes, ladies and gentlemen. After their return at Qlimax last year, many rumours went out if Project One would come up with new music. After a while, this was somehow confirmed, but now we could say that the defenitive word is out.
Yesterday Headhunterz and Wildstylez both made a mysterious announcement. So, we better all prepare for a few brand new tracks of the couple. Now that Headhunterz has officially returned to hardstyle and Wildstylez is still producing in his studio, the gents have also decided to continue their act as Project One ‘. After the return at Qlimax 2016 and some gigs in foreign countries, it seems to be a matter of time before we will hear something of these two.
Headhunterz & Wildstylez tease their new Project One EP
What has been revealed yet, is that also Q-dance is involved according to the orange logo in the top left corner. Besides, the title in the artwork ‘Project One EP 1’ brings us some questions. Would this be just the beginning of a new series of EPs?

Sydney favourite What So Not and Silverchair frontman Daniel Johns have linked up for a fiery new collaboration, ‘Be Ok Again’.
It’s the second single from the Chris ‘Emoh’ Emerson since he dropped ‘Better’ back in September, and also the first track that Emerson has ever sung on. The collab apparently came about completely by chance, with Johns walking past a studio in which Emerson and Perth mates Slumberjack were jamming in.
“Dan seemed intrigued and started joking he had to leave before he decided to cancel his plans and track vocals with us for the next 10hrs,” Emerson wrote on Facebook yesterday. “A few days later, he reached out via a mutual friend and invited me up the coast to stay and work with him out of his home studio.”
Read More Watch What So Not drop a killer new track live on stage   “We clicked instantly on concepts, character development, sonics and writing styles, then locked onto one song in particular. ‘Be Ok Again’ was a really personal track for me. I was kind of embarrassed to show someone of his calibre as I had written and sung my own topline to feel out the idea.
“To my surprise, he loved it and not only was he happy to re-sing my parts, he encouraged me to keep my voice on the record. I ended up doing a bunch of writing trips to Daniel’s studio and safe to say he’s become quite a good friend and mentor.”
      Listen to the track below.
