      This post discusses sexual assault.

LA producer The Gaslamp Killer has been pulled from Australia’s Let Them Eat Cake and Breakfest line-ups after being accused of raping two women.
On Friday, Twitter user @chelseaelaynne accused The Gaslamp Killer — real name William Bensussen — of raping herself and her friend in July 2013. Since then, he’s officially “parted ways” with Low End Theory, the legendary Los Angeles party at which Bensussen was a longtime resident, and been booted from the bill of Brooklyn Electronic Music Festival. His former label Brainfeeder have also distanced themselves from Bensussen.
Now, Australian promoters The Operatives have announced that The Gaslamp Killer will no longer perform at any of his upcoming Australian festival dates at Breakfest, Let Them Eat Cake and Kiwi event Northern Bass.
“In light of the accusations against The Gaslamp Killer and all it encompasses, we feel that a cancellation of the upcoming tour is currently the only option,” an official statement reads. “Hopefully there will be some clarity on the entire case in the near future, and justice is served in truth. ”
Bensussen’s alleged victim Chelsea claims that she and a friend met The Gaslamp Killer at a party on the rooftop on the Standard Hotel in Los Angeles on July 5, 2013. She alleges that Bensussen handed the two women drinks she believes were drugged and “after that, everything is pitch black except for a few sharp but at the same time, blurry, memories.”
“It has taken four years to not blame ourselves and not feel guilty or less than human for it,” she wrote in her statement. “He knows what he did and I’m sure he’s been wondering when this day would come. RaeAn and I have had to deal with the shame for four years, and it’s time he faces it too.”
In a response on his own Twitter, The Gaslamp Killer denied the allegations against him.

Add “actor” to the resumes of Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike, as the trailer for their acting debut in Belgian film Patser (meaning “Gangsta”) has just gone live. The two are barely in the trailer but for a moment, but they’re still on the YouTube thumbnail, so make of that what you will.
It’s pretty much impossible to discern any particular plot from the trailer, as it’s a blurry mish-mash of women, drugs, fast cars and guns. From the description on YouTube, “[Writers/directors] Adil El Arbi & Bilall Fallah tell the story of the lives of four dealer friends, who want to become real life swaggers. Everything spins out of control when they steal a shipment of cocaine and trigger a full out war between them, an Amsterdam drug lord and the ruthless Colombian cartels.”
Well there you have it… watch the crazy trailer below!

The loss of headphone jacks on phones these days seems like a bit of a mass extinction event. One by one, major carriers have started to do away with the feature – though Apple wasn’t the first manufacturer to do so, the lack of headphone jack on the iPhone 7 definitely garnered the most press, if only because the moves Apple makes tend to cause waves throughout the industry.
A little over a year later, Google revealed the Pixel 2 and announced that it, too, would no longer feature a standard 3.5 mm headphone jack.
Talking to TechCrunch, Google’s Mario Queiroz said that Google wants to make all-screen phones. And having a 3.5mm headphone jack inside the phone doesn’t fit with that design strategy.
“The primary reason [for dropping the jack] is establishing a mechanical design path for the future,” Queiroz said. “We want the display to go closer and closer to the edge. Our team said, ‘if we’re going to make the shift, let’s make it sooner, rather than later.’ Last year may have been too early. Now there are more phones on the market.”
However, this reasoning doesn’t exactly ring true. An excellent example of a full-screen phone with a headphone jack and USB-C is none other than the Samsung Galaxy S8. This phone featured what Samsung called an ‘infinity display,’ which loosely translated to really, really small bezels and rounded edges on the sides.
The Galaxy S8 measures 148.9 x 68.1 x 8.0 mm, with 5.8″ of screen size. The Pixel 2, by comparison, is a tad smaller, measuring 145.7 x 69.7 x 7.8 mm, and yet the screen is a full 0.8″ smaller… and still no headphone jack. Even the Pixel 2XL, which is comparatively massive at 157.9 x 76.7 x 7.9 mm, only affords an extra 0.2″ of screen size over the Galaxy S8. And also no headphone jack.

So we’re not sure if we completely buy Quieroz’ explanation, but it seems to be one he’s sticking with.
