    Decadence Colorado 2017 [Event Review]

    Ozclubbers.com.au

For the second year in a row, I attended Decadence NYE, and it was incredible. After going to the festival last year and having an amazing time, I returned to Denver, Colorado with high expectations.

Thankfully, my expectations were completely exceeded. Once again, Decadence Colorado provided its attendees with a stacked lineup and a spectacular level of production, as well as interactive activities, including a silent disco, and art installations and vendors spread throughout the festival. While the entirety of Decadence Colorado was awesome, here are the top moments.

    Space Jesus’ Family

At the start of Space Jesus’ performance he announced that his family, including his mother, father, and younger brother, was in attendance with him. During Space Jesus’ whole set they were there watching him and even came out on stage at the end for the ‘family photo.’ However, the most memorable aspect of their attendance was when Janak, Space Jesus’ younger brother, came out on stage during one of his tracks and straight up raged. Watching Janak on stage, and Space Jesus’ parents during the ‘family photo,’ it was clear that they are extremely happy for him and proud to be a part of his family, and it was a pleasure to witness this in person.

ODESZA Ringing in the New Year

To bring in 2018, I spent my time seeing ODESZA’s performance, and it was magical. Words can’t do it justice so here’s a video taken by VERAX Creative that Decadence Colorado reposted on their social media platforms:

    Bassnectar’s Entire Set

Seeing Bassnectar perform is always a treat and once again, he proved that he is the ‘King of Bass.’ His set contained multiple bass-heavy bangers, such as “Blitzkrieg Bop” mixed into his and Terravita’s remix of “Upside Down” and “Slather” off of his newest EP Reflective Pt. 2. Overall, it was a bass lover’s dream and was highly entertaining and extremely memorable.

    Borgore’s Audience

While I’m not the biggest fan of Borgore and his music, there’s no denying that he has a loyal fan base. During his performance the entire crowd was gettin’ down. Although I was standing close to the back of the crowd, everywhere I looked everyone was going buckwild and having a great time.

    The Floozies’ Ending

By far my favorite moment of the entire festival occurred at the end of the first night when The Floozies closed out the Time Vault Stage with Cosmic Rays. During the final guitar solo of the song, Matt laid down on the ground and let it rip, and it was unreal. I’ve never been, and probably never will be, as happy and content with the ending of a set and I’m so glad that I was a part of their Decadence Colorado performance.

All in all, Decadence Colorado was an extraordinary festival. Every music performance I saw was phenomenal and the festival was run extremely well. Although it’s a long way away, I’ve decided that I will definitely be attending Decadence Colorado again at the end of this year.
