Diplo graces L’Uomo Vogue with his good looks

    OzClubbers

    Diplo has struck a pose.

The luminary has let his hair down for L’Uomo Vogue, a male focused offshoot of the American fashion & lifestyle magazine.

A cornerstone publication of men’s fashion and style, L’Uomo Vogue sees Diplo outfitted in the clean lines of Prada’s spring/summer 2018 line, compiling a gallery of seven photographs of Diplo modeling the collection.

    Diplo

The gallery is flanked by a brief interview with Diplo, written in the magazine’s domestic language of Italian. Diplo notes therein that he “[does] not cry for music” in response to the interviewer’s question concerning “the last time music made [him] cry,” but lauds Sam Smith‘s voice as a particularly “powerful” one before moving on to discuss outsiders in “the producers’ environment,” being called an “EDM DJ,” and the recent decline of American pop music.

“All pop stars are struggling to have some great hits,” Diplo muses. “Taylor Swift just had to surrender the first ranked position [to] Cardi B, a rapper, and then to Post Malone, another rapper who is now in second place. If five-years ago [you] said that would happen, I never would have believed you, you know?” Diplo attributes the shift in popular musical preference to kids “listening to what they want,” a reality that has dethroned the label as a commanding entity.

Diplo digresses from music to highlight the “many other things” that he eventually wants to do. “I can not imagine continuing to do it unless it is inspiring [work in music],” Diplo states, “…I can write or work at a pizzeria or do something else I’ve never done.”

The full interview can be read here.

On the release of Celestal's hot new record Old School Romance and the accompanying remix package, we had a quick chat to Celestal about his journey so far including the making of Old School Romance.

GALLEON: So, what inspired you to start making music and at what age.
CELESTAL: It’s my father who gave my twin brother and I our artistic side. He’s an amazing chef and has always encouraged us from a very young age to pursue our musical dreams. Growing up listening to Funk, Brazilian and French it was a nice mix. I started getting into music at 7 years old. I was always a very good trombone player and my brother played the trumpet. You get the point, but it’s what got us where we are today, ambition, playing with our friends at school as well as playing sports. It was great.

G: Tell us about Old School Romance and how it came about.
C: It’s a song that fits me so well - a mix of dance pop, melancholy, a gimmick of guitar and a simple melody that can touch anybody for it is filled with all kinds of emotions. The title comes from Nashville influences, the city of Rachel Pearl, the singers hometown. Moscow is also an influence, being the guitarist’ hometown. Of course, Paris was a huge influence, being where I produced the song.  Each of us brought our own emotions and our own experiences to create this song.  The song is unique being filled with a mix of influences and a soft touch.

G: How did you choose the remix package (including Funkstar De Lux and Matthieu Koss) or was this chosen by your record label?
C: Funkstar de Luke well that came about my label and I can tell you I was pleased because it went all kinds of places and I loved every bit from the start. Bravo. Regarding Matthieu Koss, what can I say I love the guy. Not only is he from my hometown (I had no idea before I met him), but he has his own universe, a little malicious side to him and a lot of personality that make me want to dance and go somewhere. He’s so talented. His remix is amazing.

G: What is in the works for Celestal in the next 12 months? Is there an album in the pipeline, and will you be touring?
C: Lots of work, I’m working on a bunch of new songs. Two are almost finished, very different styles. I’m also going to be working on getting together with Rachel in the days to come and I have plans with this male vocal as well. I’m always thinking about new melodies and ideas so an EP is definitely the next step for me. I’m also working a lot on promo, productions for other artists, remixes… my agenda is pretty booked. But I promise you lots of new things will be coming in a near future !

G: What are your three biggest records right now?
C: If there is one song that I have stuck in my head at the moment it’s most deff “One Kiss” by Calvin Harris & Dua Lipa. Finally some good house pop is back on the airwaves. Someone that I’ve always admired over the years is David Guetta, I know it’s not original but this guy has me feeling all kinds of ways with his collab with Sia on “Flames”. It’s a beautiful song, it works and has so much energy and tenderness. And lastly I think I’ll choose Jonas Blue with his latest song “Rise” that is following the footsteps of his song prior to that “Mama”. The guy is so talented, as well as kind hearted with so much talent.

Tee'd up with Miami dubstep lord Jupe to make an epic dance/trap infusion with the addition of vocals from Aussie artist Savoi Coming off the back of a huge set at Splendour In The Grass 2017, Enschway will be playing Australia's national Listen Out Festival this September, arguably one of Austalia's biggest  He will also be taking the EP on a solo tour throughout July, hitting all capital cities in Aus plus a special show for NZ fans in Auckland  EP also includes Australian club aficionado Perto and Aussie young-gun Leotrix
Sydney-based Nic Schweighoffer aka Enschway, has once again teamed up with his mates throughout the global dance community to create the third EP in his infamous series of Friendschway EPs. On board for the third installment is Miami producer Jupe, Aussie artist Perto and the up and coming DJ, Leotrix, coming together to create an insanely eclectic three track EP ranging from EDM festival-ready drops to heaving club bangers.
On the lead single off the EP, Nic employs Miami producer Jupe and Australian singer/songwriter Savoi to construct ‘Make It Work’ an epic dance and trap infusion that would fit perfectly into any EDM headliners festival set. Aussie club aficionado Perto lends his production finesse on ‘Lose It’, a definite crowd favourite in all of Enschway’s recent shows, and newcomer Leotrix blends his fresh ears with Nic’s expertise for ‘Can’t Stay Here’ creating an insanely dark and intricate mix.

On the collaborations, Nic explained, “For Friendschway 3 I wanted to keep it short and sweet. Two super heavy disgusting tracks and one calmer more emotional song. The EP has been in the works for so long I’m just so happy it’s finally so close to release. I think Lose It w/ Perto has been finished for almost 2 years and has been the most anticipated release of ours. I’ve spent the last few months really trying to hone in on bettering the quality in the production so I’m hoping it shines through with this latest release. Hope everyone enjoys it. ”

After his absolutely huge set at 2017’s Splendour In The Grass and sold out headline show at Oxford Art Factory, Enschway has been hand-picked as one of the few locals announced for Australia’s nationalListen Out Festival this September. “The French two-piece who are beginning to build a real name for themselves” - YOU
Thrown into the electronic and hip-hop music scene at a young age, Trinix’s musical journey has developed into a sweet revival of the 90’s originated genre: French Touch. New effort Otherside continues this pop tinged, riff filled musical restoration. The exploration hits us with a sense of Trinix’s mesmerising production skill, expertly refined over the years.
In 2017, the two young French producers released their Hide EP that reached an incredible 15 million streams. Having always received strong support from youtube tastemakers MrSuicideSheep and Chill Nation, Trinix continue to distil their various influences in a skilful and modern mix. They oscillate between electro chill, tropical house, nu-funk and future bass in the most sophisticated of ways.
To continue the ride, more recent releases like tropical house track Close to Me build suspense in anticipation for their upcoming album release. With a total of 75 million streams and rising, it’s safe to say fans are eagerly awaiting their next promised body of work, May Day.
As Trinix’s first ever album, May Day comes after 2 years of solid work from the pair. The boys tell us: "The major theme of the album is the Space which we find fascinating by its diversity and which we absolutely want to symbolize thanks to "Mayday". All the titles have been selected with great difficulty and doubt among more than 60 compositions, to obtain a coherent and representative rendering of our Music".
Ahead of the upcoming album release, this new single is composed with a seriously funky rhythm, formidable chopped vocals and the deliciously soulful voice of Opé Smith. Otherside transforms what you know to be pop-house and adds delectably emotive lyrics to Trinix’s clean cut and consistently seamless production.

Celestal, one of France’s fastest rising musicians, offers a mammoth remix package for his internationally acclaimed single, Old School Romance. The release delivers a fiery selection of remixes from the likes of Mathieu Koss, Merk & Kermont, Funkstar De Luxe, Winning Team and Roman Kouder, among many others.
From trap to house, from EDM to pop, Celestal has provided a very special selection of remixes that take his standout original to new sonic spaces. Winning Team’s electric remix is poised to pack the ultimate dancefloor punch with its stadium filler sound. Mathieu Koss injects club-focused energy and Merk & Kermont fuse bouncing bass lines with unforgettable summer infused melodies. Roman Kouder has remixed Old School Romance with a rich, trap inspired reimagining, while there are a range of mesmerising remixes on display from some huge artists in this unmissable release.
Working behind the scenes with multiple artists as a producer, Celestal made the bold move to step out of the shadows and into the limelight. Since, he has graced the world with his emotive house inspired pop. Naturally and Colors picked up 4000 radio broadcasts in France and a further 2 million audio streams between them. Add to this the success of Old School Romance (with 3000 radio broadcasts already) and it’s clear that the fruits of Celestal’s labour are flourishing.
A true musician and artist, Celestal collaborated with the hotly-tipped vocalist Racheal Pearl and celebrated Russian musician Grynn for Old School Romance. He has also turned heads with a mysterious and enchanting music video, featuring Chanel and Doir model, Fanny Sage.
Old School Romance (Remixes) is the next step in Celestal’s journey to global success in 2018 and beyond.
