Bank Holidays are made for clubbing; an extra day off work means an extra day of partying and the bank holiday listings are always guaranteed to be teeming with some seriously punchy line ups. Well, that’s certainly the case this Saturday for Bristol’s clubbing mecca, MOTION, where they’re hosting their most ambitious party to date – Yard Open Air.

We love a bit of al fresco raving here at TTK and this Saturday Yard will be split across three newly developed open air spaces taking place in the Container Yard, Crane Yard and Lock Yard – nice.  Motion is well known as being one of the best clubs in the South West, if not the UK; a testament to the carefully curated line-ups and talented artists that they attract to the venue. It will be our first time at Motion this weekend and boy are we excited, as this Saturday’s party brings together some of the biggest names in house and techno.

Techo pioneer/god Jeff Mills is top of the bill, bringing the sound of Detroit to Bristol. Even decades on, Mills is as relevant in the scene as ever and this is a rare chance to catch one of his legendary sets.  Also heading up the bill is local boy Eats Everything along with Seth Troxler, Joy Orbison, Daniel Avery and Axel Boman.  There’s also live sets from Tboias and Octo Octa and an immersive LED installation from Squidsoup which will host ambient sets from some of the artists on the bill.

Ahead of the festivities this weekend we thought we would pull together a playlist of our favourite tracks from some of the artists on this Saturday’s line up. There’s a couple of surprises in there too. Enjoy.

Tickets for Yard: Open Air Club are still on sale. Get your tickets HERE.

Stay tuned to our twitter for live updates throughout the day. From Bristol or been there before? Tweet us your tips and suggestions @technokittens.

    1. Eats Everything | Entrance Song – This was the track that propelled his DJ career and introduced Eats to the world. Banger.
    2. Eats Everything feat Tiga vs Audion | Dancing (Again) – The acapella borrowed from Tiga’s original track lends itself nicely. A real party track.
    3. Danny Daze | Your Everything – Not one of his own, but I will never forget Seth dropping this at one of the first every London parties I went to at Crucifix Lanes (RIP). Still an absolute corker of a track. Pure filth.
    4. Boddika & Joy Orbison | Mercy (Boddika’s VIP) – You cannot help but want to lose your shit to it. Probably why Hannah Wants ripped it off. Awks.
    5. Joy Orbison | Ellipsis – ‘We Just Used To Like’ – that vocal sample, that bassy melody and that piano riff. Gawd I love it. Joy O on fine, fine form.
    6. Julio Bashmore | Battle For Middle You – Okay, he’s not playing Motion. But he’s one of Bristol’s finest. An absolute beauty of a track.
    7. Daniel Avery | Drone Logic – Takes me back to FabricLive 66. My first introduction to Daniel Avery. Haven’t actually caught him play yet, so cannot wait for Saturday!
    8. Daniel Avery | Water Jump – My all time favourite track of his. It really gets going about halfway through with that hypnotic vocal chant and that big fat squidgy bass line. Beast.
    9. Midland | Blush – There’s a warm groove to this track that just makes you want to dance.
    10. Midland | Trace – Probably his biggest track. One of my all time faves.
    11. Bicep Vs Midland | D-Mil (Club) – You’ve got to love the jackin’ vibe to this track; it’s infectious and guaranteed to make you move. What a collab.
    12. Julio Bashmore | Au Seve – Surprise! Here’s Julio again. You’ve got to admit this track is so fucking catchy.
    13. Axel Boman | Hello – A blissful track, perfect for the afters or chilling on a beach. Even if you’re in your two-bed semi in Croydon, just shut your eyes and Axel will take you away.
    14. Axel Boman | Purple Drank – This track is hypnotic and takes me back – released in 2010, it’s definitely been heard on many a dance floor since then.
    15. Carl Cox & Jeff Mils | Live At Cherry Moon (1997) – over 20 years and Jeff Mills is still going strong. What a set from the two techno gods. We’re not worthy.
