Jam & Spoon – Odyssey To Anyoona (The Remixes)

    OzClubbers

Jam & Spoon - Odyssey To Anyoona (The Remixes)When reflecting upon the early roots of trance music in the early nineties, a key pioneer of this music we love was the duo of Jam El Mar and the late Mark Spoon. In 1994, they released the single ‘Find Me’, but little were they to know that the record’s B-Side would go on to become one of the most cherished of all time – the timeless ‘Odyssey To Anyoona’.

Coldharbour Recordings is both delighted and honored to welcome the legendary figure of Jam El Mar to its family of artists. In doing so, they are also incredibly proud to introduce ‘Odyssey To Anyoona’ to the modern- day generation.

http://trance-family.com/markus-schulz-pres-dakota-the-nine-skies/Following a summer visit to Frankfurt, Markus Schulz struck an immediate rapport and chemistry with Jam in his home city. There they embarked on rekindling the magic of the original, which is beloved by so many. Surrounded by an energetically hypnotic 140bpm outer layer, the core remains intact, harnessing the beautiful soul of angelic and emotionally driven tones. Debuted to rapturous appraisal at Nature One, Germany’s leading dance music festival, it created a moment for both Jam and Markus to share for a lifetime.

And to compliment the energy of the Markus Schulz vs. Jam El Mar outlay, maestro Jamie Stevens teams up with Uone for a tantalizingly, laid-back, deep house affair; oozing class whether played early in the morning or the evening.

For the veterans out there, the revival of ‘Odyssey To Anyoona’ will be a fond trip down memory lane to reminisce. And for the new generation, embrace it and fall in love with its beauty.

MasterClass, the premier online education platform, announced today that legendary DJ Armin van Buuren is teaching his first ever online class. The class is open for pre-enrollment starting today at www.masterclass.com/avb. Enrollment in the class is $90, or $180 per year for unlimited access to all new and existing MasterClasses with the All-Access Pass. Each enrollment option can also be given as a gift.
Armin van Buuren, one of the most influential figures in the global dance scene, has topped the Billboard charts, attracted tens of millions of worldwide listeners to his weekly radioshow “A State of Trance,” and landed a record-setting five No. 1 DJ awards from DJ Mag’s Top 100 DJs. The Grammy-nominated artist’s work has spanned major evolutions in dance music, from spinning with vinyl in small clubs to headlining global dance festivals.
In his 20th year as an artist, van Buuren will share insights about what it takes to get established in the competitive and ever-changing business of dance music. Students will get an intimate look into the artist’s creative process as van Buuren creates a track from scratch specifically for his MasterClass. Aspiring producers will learn his pillars for becoming a world-class DJ—production, performance, and promotion. The class dives into the more technical aspects of producing, including mixing, arranging, and building dance-worthy drops.
“Nowadays, to be a successful artist and DJ, it’s not enough to just know how to spin records. If you want to stand out, you need to make your own records, write music, and make remixes and mashups for your DJ sets. I’m truly excited to share my passion for producing music and DJing in my MasterClass,” said Armin van Buuren, MasterClass instructor. “It’s the first time I get to show you my secrets and tips, and everything I’ve learned in my twenty years in this business.”

“Armin is an international icon of dance music. Despite his musical genius, he has stayed humble, hard-working, earnestly connected to his fans, and has never lost sight of the joy in his work. His passion for teaching is infectious. There really is an art and science to making people dance — it has to do with sculpting sound, mixing, and arranging songs for maximum impact — that’s Armin’s mastery, and he’s certainly one of the best to ever do it,” said David Rogier, CEO and Co-Founder of MasterClass.
MasterClass is an online education company which provides classes from world-renowned instructors, making it possible for anyone to learn from the best. Each class offers a unique learning experience which includes video lessons from the instructor, interactive exercises, course materials, peer interaction, and more. Funded by fans via a successful Kickstarter campaign, ‘The Only Road’ features singles ‘This Love Kills Me’, ‘White Walls’ and ‘Waiting For Winter’. Coming December 15 on Anjunabeats. Here’s what they had to say
The Only Road, our first new album in 11 years is now available to pre-order on iTunes with 3 “instant gratification” tracks available for download right away. You can also pre-order the CD from the Anjunastore and pre-save the album to your Spotify account so the album will be ready to go on December 15th, the day it comes out worldwide.

It’s really important that all our friends and fans go out and support this release. If it charts high on the iTunes Charts when it comes out December 15th, it will really open a lot of doors for us and dance music that doesn’t sound like everything else. We’d also like to take this opportunity to thank the 700 backers of our Kickstarter, because without their support we would never have been able to make this album.

Without question one of the foremost influences on electronic music production over the last three decades, this month marks Oliver Lieb’s return as L.S.G. Having lit the path with his remixed/re-mastered/re-released ‘Netherworld’ (“one of the most iconic trance and progressive singles in existence” – Dancing Astronaut) last month, August sees the German legend drop his first official studio long-player in 15 years. Something of an album recluse since 2002’s ‘The Hive’, as it’s title infers ‘Double Vision’ is a graphic, sonic demonstration of the two divergent halves of Lieb’s musical psyche.
A past-master in doing ‘different’ (and well before it became established practice), this album puts into the sharpest of perspectives the two poles-apart sides of Oliver Lieb’s musical mind. It’s out on August 14th and available to pre-order now here: https://www.beatport.com/release/double-vision/2074010

Throughout its frontend, the album cruises & arcs through a world of coolly glacial grooves, zephyr-ish melodies and epic soundscapes, all bound together with the mellowest of drama. The second half sees him shift focus to the clubfloor, supplying ‘Double Vision’ with drum punch and floor verve through its eleven 4/4-based killers.
‘Seven Worlds’, which raises ‘Double Vision’s curtain is a beat-less slice to appetite-whetting/scene-setting ambient overture. Through ‘Escape The Gravity’, downtempo kick-drums arrive, quickly followed by an epic 10 minutes of bass & breaks driven culture in the form of ‘Vapor’. Alongside its 8-bit bleeps, breaks also lie at the heart of ‘Spotter’, before the album becomes deeper and more pacific with ‘Passion’. Matters take a turn for the galactic as ‘Suborbital’ lifts it up, while the live-sounding hi-hats and all-round twisted dynamism of ‘Tipsy Flower’ bring a distinctly eclectic edge to it. ‘Perfect Blue’, which closes out ‘Double Vision’s first act, summons Blade Runner-ish imagery, before its slowed-up drum ‘n’ bass rhythms, squelchy FX and cursive synths wrestle control.
From the warped pitch of its very first synth, ‘Domino’ lets you know you’ve arrived on different sonic ground. On CD2 Oliver begins to flex more floor muscle, as the pressing shuffle of percussion and 4/4 timecodes resonate. ‘Whiteout’ brings the album a contemporary edge, full of swi
rling harmonic pads and subtly gated synthery. ‘Cepheid’ and ‘Freakwaves’ are tech-touched cuts both, with their recursive beats, entrancing FX elements and nagging synths, all awash with an gothic ether. ‘Little Wing’ offers a brief ambient interval, which segues into the fascinatingly dystopian ‘Aviation’. ‘Colours Of Noise’ provides a master class in synth serration and measured distortion, while ‘Your Love’ comes fully equipped with beautifully defined bass, reverb-heavy percs and FX-frayed vocal intrigue.
‘When It’s Dark Outside’ is a fantastic display of proggy tech, doomy LFO and percussive hiss, countered by measured harmonics. ‘Input’ meanwhile arcs to the stratosphere. Showcasing some expert modulation, it’s backed by its scudding, stormy beats. The epic ‘Supercycle’ rounds up this extraordinary album with a deep groove, stabbed synths and next-level FX, all driven by potent drum resource.
