A teenager has allegedly hit a police officer at Splendour In The Grass before being inevitably chased down and arrested.

The 18 year old was approached near the entry of the festival after the police observed “some sort of exchange.” The senior constable officer was apparently hit in the face before the kid took off. Not long later he was allegedly caught with a whole bunch of cocaine and amphetamines.

The heavy hand of law came down hard on the kid with a buffet of charges.

    – supplying a prohibited drug
    – two drug possession charges
    – dealing with the proceeds of crime
    – assaulting police
    – resisting police

Should Splendour In The Grass be allowed to do drug testing to create a more preventative approach like Groovin The Moo has?
