Tez Cadey drops progressive leaning single: Logic

      Category: News

Tez Cadey is a French producer and DJ that creates an assortment of melodic and proudly authentic music. After releasing a diverse range of work over the years, Tez drops the third single this year in anticipation of his forthcoming Lizard Days LP.This accumulation of singles ends with Logic, an accessible house tune that builds gradually to the eventual climax.

Tez Cadey is self-confessed music geek, that holds a more reserved personality than the stereotypical DJ. Whilst drawing influences from personal favourites in the field, Avicii and Kygo, Tez carefully constructs a reputation as a talented improvisational DJ that can spin a set on demand, with any given theme.

Within this year’s body of work, Tez Cadey dropped two heavy vocal singles - Rivers featuring artist Brodie Barclay and the Flying Illusion single that boasts songstress Ming.  Earlier in his musical career, Tez Cadey’s Seve reached upwards of 800M streams worldwide and has been certified 16x diamond internationally. The track also garnered huge support in the notoriously hard to break market of China. Not far behind is another prevalent tropical house leaning anthem that features Julia Church’s reminiscent tinged vocals, Walls (Summer Mix).

Embracing multiple measured swells, Logic is a solid single that evolves into a mesmerising but minimalistic club roller. Keeping it simplistic and sophisticated, Tez Cadey’s infectious synth melodies continue to make waves of excitement as we head into the latter part of 2018 with his exciting Lizard Days LP set to release on 2nd November.

Tez Cadey Logic is out now through Arista.

Multi-platinum, award-winning, Finnish Trance DJ/Producer, Ville Virtanen AKA Darude is behind one of the world’s biggest and most iconic Dance tracks ‘Sandstorm’.

He’s won 3 Finnish Grammy Awards and released 4 critically acclaimed albums with his last album ‘Moments’ coming out via Warner Music.

Each year he plays hundreds of club and festival shows around the world including two visits to Australia last year.

One of the most successful Finnish artists ever, his music has had a global reach most artists can only dream of.

In terms of pivotal dance music moments, for many people, Sandstorm was one, and was the track that opened the doors of club music to them.

The influence of this track has been felt not just by fans but also other electronic artists.

On his infamous coffee run Deadmau5 surprised us all by crediting Darude with bringing electronic music to Canada.

“You and a select few were responsible for the influx of electronic music into North America" He says.

"It was the first time electronic music became less underground and cool, there wasn’t anything before that”.

Today, the renowned Finnish producer has a new single ‘HIDE’ and has just represented Finland at the Eurovision Song Contest 2019.

The new release brings in fellow Finn, progressive house and trance producer, Audioventura and features Aussie vocalist JVMIE who nails the trance vocal on the track.

Featuring a familiar emotional and uplifting sound, this is a second collaboration with Jamie Lee Wilson, after last year's progressive trance collaboration on “Timeless”.
When I spoke to Ville last week, he was fresh up from a night of partying on the eve of Eurovision 2019, and was soaking up the relaxed and liberal vibe of Tel Aviv.

I asked about his new music and if he thought of himself as a trance artist.
“I don’t mind if people call me a trance artist or trance dj, its not wrong" he says.
"My musical background and influences are in rock, and I listen to punk and metal. I like music that moves me and has energy.

"I’ve done housey stuff, but I’m leaning back to trance.

"I don’t like to put stuff in boxes and what ever comes out, comes out”.

In terms of the Eurovision gig, he didn’t say yes straight away, due to the amount of work involved but ultimately decided he couldn't pass up representing Finland.

When asked what it feels like to be the first DJ ever to be asked to do Eurovision he humbly says “It’s the biggest honour ever”.

Since his arrival on the world stage in 1999, Darude's iconic music has been used in Euro 2000, Wimbledon, The Olympics, NFL, NBA and the UFC.

He’s featured everywhere from Hollywood movies to advertising videos for Nike and PlayStation, and in video games like DJ Hero and Angry Birds.

His musical reach continues to cross boundaries and break down barriers and he continues to be one of dance music’s most influential artists.

Betical is the French sibling duo that produce eclectic and immersive electronic music. Embracing the musical world at the ripe age of ten 10, the brothers passion ignited soon after the prolific weight of the French touch movement. As we look forward to the release of their first ever EP later this year, Betical release the last slice of abstract and exhilarating work within new single, Strangers.

Betical derive from a technological restriction that saw the duo tackle solo work with only one laptop. As both brothers’ love for production grew, together with their needs for the laptop, they decided to join forces to make the most of their limited equipment. As well as leading music focused lives, one brother still holds an obsession in the equally creative industry of graphic design. Pushing this to the forefront of the Betical project, the brothers enjoy utilising this skill to create their brand, artwork and many other assets from scratch.

Betical’s biggest success, Control, garnered hundreds of thousands of Spotify streams, alongside electronic staples Voices and remixes of Casual and Back for More. Also known for superb reimagination of Kungs’ This Girl the duo showcased mainstream appeal with support from BBC Radio 1 amongst other key tastemakers. As the third release in the project, the Surrender single encapsulated Betical’s immense skill for producing music with cinematic appeal. Visually supported by their own video creation, Betical showcased an immersive gaming experience with a retro, glitchy landscape that captures their erratic flare perfectly.

Enjoying their focus on original productions, the final release ahead of the Strangers in the Night EP has come as a respectful nod to a delightfully obscure combination of soul and techno. Predominantly instrumental, Strangers is an expansive and unpredictable effort from Betical. Boasting heavily produced vocals that ride softly over the main event, which is of course the underlying and progressing vigour revealed within the prominent riff line.

Canadian Derek Silvester aka Dezza, is a progressive house producer and DJ with releases on Enhanced, Zerothree, Anjunabeats & Spinnin Records.

With a solid 20 years of music experimentation behind him, his first electronic track famously made it’s way into the hands of Tiesto, who played it live a few times.

A virtual blessing from the music gods, the decision to continue in electronic music was made and in the previous year he released over 15 tracks.

When I spoke to Derek for OzClubbers, he’d just finished up playing a sold out show at Melbourne’s New Guernica and is just days off playing ASOT900.

“To be invited to play at ASOT900 representing progressive house, is a dream come true for me. Says Derek.

“I still can’t believe it. It’s the biggest trance festival in the world!

“It’s kind of funny, I live in a small town in Canada that doesn’t really have much of a scene for my music, so when I tell people about it, they don’t really understand, so I keep things low key.

Friends and family are excited for me and encourage me to chase my dreams and that’s all that matters.” he says.

Of being on the same line up as the likes of Armin, JOOF and Above and Beyond and planning his set for ASOT900, he says it was incredibly stressful to plan.

The set has been on my mind since it’s confirmation in October 2019. Only having an hour to showcase yourself to the biggest live audience in electronic music is tough.

He plans to play 100% original material for the set with approximately 40 tracks to choose from. He won’t know the exact tracks until he gets up on the stage.

When asked how he’d describe his sound he says “Melody driven, groovy progressive house. The tracks can be dark, emotional, or happy.”

When asked about the probability of moonlighting on one of the other ASOT stages he doesn’t completely dismiss the idea but says “I tend to stay in the progressive genre so I will gladly play any progressive stage that wants me.”

With a huge upcoming schedule for 2019 he hopes that shows will come back to the intimate club setting and for more extended DJ sets, with less power hour, festival stuff.
Of touring he says “It’s been wonderful so far, I love meeting people from different cultures and absorbing it all.”

He’s getting ready to release a new album in March 2019 and spent the better part of last year releasing music to clear the slate and he’s already released a few pre-singles from the album.

Hoping to show a diverse range of productions he says expect elements of Trance, House, Progressive, Chill-Out, and Deep House. It’s due for release through Colorize, a sub-label of UK based label Enhanced Music.

To add to the fan experience, upon release of the new album, special album packages and experiences will be available through Amplifyd. Through the same platform, producers can also get their hands on an exclusive construction kit to use in their projects.

Amplifyd is a music platform that provides custom experiences for fans and music lovers. They provide access to one-on-one video calls, music production tutorials, custom artist sample packs, hard copy albums, vinyl, and even can give you a chance to meet and greet your favourite artist on the night of a show and be added to their guestlist.

Having just left the country at the time of our interview, I brought up the fact that with a name like Dezza, he’s pretty much already an honorary Aussie because here in Oz, we just love to wack the letter A on the end of a person’s name, as a term of endearment.

Unsurprisingly he says his name came about much the same way “My name is Derek. One of my friends from England called me Dezza one day and it just stuck!

“I will gladly take on the role of an honorary Australian!”

Despite the hectic tour schedule, his weekly A State Of Trance radio show and all preparations for his unique Gaia show during Amsterdam Dance Event next week, Armin van Buuren hasn’t been sitting still in the studio. Today, the Grammy-nominated, globally renowned artist unleashed a brand-new single called ‘Wild Wild Son’, released on Amsterdam-based record label Armada Music.

Armin van Buuren: “Many people ask me what songs of mine I’m most proud of. All tracks are my babies, but some tracks I just have more of a connection with, simply because of the time I spent on it or the emotion attached to it. In this case, ‘Wild Wild Son’ is about Sam Martin’s (then unborn) son. I fell so much in love with the song because I recognize the love I feel for my own son. I also really went the extra mile with the production, recording real drums (Koen) and real strings. It was almost a year in the making. It’s a little different from my previous work and a big step for me personally.”

Helmed by sublime piano chords and wonderful, guiding vocals, ‘Wild Wild Son’ sees Armin van Buuren go down the cross-genre road to come up with an absolute masterpiece. Moving, hopeful and honest, it features the vocals of singer-songwriter Sam Martin, who worked with David Guetta on international hits such as ‘Dangerous’ and ‘Lovers On The Sun’. The release of the single, which coincides with the launch of a phenomenal official music video, also bears an empowering message; the song was written by Sam Martin as a message to his unborn son, encouraging him to follow his heart and dreams, and run free.
