Vault Sessions premieres at Warehouse Elementenstraat with a killer line up to celebrate their 3rd anniversary

    Vault Sessions

Amsterdam – Vault Sessions was founded less than three years ago by 3 friends who shared a passion for techno. What started out as a new concept at Dhoem Dhaam Warehouse (which is being demolished at time of writing), quickly developed to multiple nights at club Radion and two showcases during Amsterdam Dance Event with Tresor and Perc Trax.

    Vault Sessions

Around that time, club Shelter Amsterdam opened her doors and Vault Sessions was one of the first to move in. Now, after multiple sold out events, they decided to take their concept to Warehouse Elementenstraat to celebrate their third anniversary. A massive venue with an impressive dance history, and currently the homebase of Reaktor, HYTE and Welcome To The Future.

Some may wonder if such a big step is a risk worth taking for a rather new concept like Vault Sessions, but think twice, cause they actually nailed it. A killer line up was presented last week, and since the start of the ticket sales two days ago, Vault Sessions III already sold over 60% of their tickets.

If you want to go don’t wait a minute longer and get a ticket here before Vault Sessions III is completely sold out.

2018 provided the biggest moment of ICARUS’s career to date. They started the year by landing their fourth consecutive Hottest Record with ‘Love Has Come Around’ – a track that soon earned the support of rising stars RÜFÜS DU SOL.

That started a RÜFÜS / ICARUS bromance, with the Australian trio inviting the Bristol-based brothers on tour. ICARUS opened for them on the North American leg, earning new fans wherever they went, notably with three nights at Los Angeles’ 6000 capacity Shrine Expo Hall and another three at New York’s Terminal 5. ICARUS then stepped up as main support on RÜFÜS’S UK dates as they earned a rapturous reception at London’s Printworks.

It would’ve been a remarkable experience for anyone, but for ICARUS it was all the more impressive as they’d only debuted their live show six months earlier.

While all that was going on, the genre-defying duo – brothers Ian and Tom Griffiths – were also readying their new EP ‘This Must Be The Place’ which is released today on FFRR. Their most accomplished body of work to date, the EP revolves around the concept of constantly moving from one place to the next – a lifestyle which dictates contradictory emotions of unlimited freedom alongside loneliness and anxiety.

The EP was previewed by ‘Echoes’, which hit #3 on Radio 1’s Dance Chart, and ‘Man of the Land’, a collaboration which pitied ICARUS’s dark, cinematic production alongside transient-themed lyricism from Real Lies. As ICARUS note, “We’ve got the clearest vision that we’ve ever had of the core ICARUS sound, but those tracks show that we’ll always experiment with how far we’ll push it.”

That approach also informs the EP’s other new tracks. Previously ICARUS have moved at will between styles, infusing crossover anthems, cinematic atmospherics and expansive progressive productions with their own signature style. This time around, ‘Sirens’ brings all of those elements into one thrilling new take on what ICARUS can be.

An early demo of ‘Sirens’ was almost forgotten about until it was included on a pre-gig playlist during the duo’s first live tour. That version attracted the interest of some friends and inspired ICARUS to again focus their attention upon it. “It was a straight-up crossover track, almost a pop record with a three-minute song structure but we really liked the beat and the drop. Our current approach to production made it come together.” It features vocals from fellow Bristolian, Katy Pearson.

South Africa’s prime DJ/producer Das Kapital has remixed Bengali singer Arzeen’s new single on LA based, world influenced label Pinkturban. Titled Prem De, the single is a refreshing serving of Bangladeshi music. Das Kaptial’s intoxicating, bass heavy and club friendly remix offers something completely unique and is sure to set dancefloors alight in South Africa and beyond.

Das Kapital is a DJ, producer, and radio host with a vision. His music defies boundaries by traversing House, UK Garage, Techno, Acid, Breaks and Bass Music, warping genres with a distinct forward-thinking vibe. The Cape Town based artist has released on a plethora of labels including This Ain’t Bristol, World Famous Headquarters, Punks Music and Saucy Records, while he’s been supported by the likes of A-Trak, Diplo, Oliver Heldens, Anna Lunoe, and many more. The result is a premier national reputation that’s seen Das Kapital nominated for three awards at the 2018 DMASA (Dance Music Awards South Africa) – plus winning Best EDM single in 2017 - not to mention his weekly three-hour national radio show on 5FM called In Das We Trust, which has been running for 4 years.

It speaks volumes about Das Kapital’s artistic vision that he has teamed with Arzeen for a cosmopolitan remix that glues South African underground dance music with an Eastern musical form. A highly respected singer, songwriter and lyricist, the now LA based Arzeen has written music for film and has been personally invited to the likes of Las Vegas, Santa Barbara, and New York to share his entrancing voice and culture.

Das Kapital’s remix is as club-driven as it is nuanced. Arzeen’s melodious vocals offer a memorable flip to the usual dance-floor tropes club-goers are used to and is sure to become a regular spun gem by DJs far and wide.

Titled Quiggin, the club-focused single sees SKIY flex her deft production abilities, showing the world her credibility not only behind the decks but in the studio as well. Brimming with energy and musicality, Quiggin is SKIY’s first release of 2019, kicking off what is poised to be her biggest year to date.

Since bursting onto the scene in 2017 with a slew of releases, SKIY has kept herself busy both as an international DJ and blossoming producer, crafting a vibrant dancefloor sound. She’s DJed acclaimed shows in Germany alongside the likes of Timmy Trumpet and Tiesto while global superstar Oliver Heldens snapped up her last single, Who Got The Keys, singing it to his Heldeep Records. Alex Preston has produced a new EP for Sonny Fodera’s growing Solotoko label. Titled Ain’t Gonna Cry, the EP sees the Australian DJ / producer showcase his exciting new style of underground house music, which fuses tasteful guitar licks and disco tinged funky basslines. Accompanied by a new live show that utilises Alex Preston’s virtuosic talents as an instrumentalist, Ain’t Gonna Cry is set to kick off 2019 with a bang for the Sydney-native whose career keeps growing year on year.

Since bursting onto the scene a few years back with his deft production abilities and raw aptitude for musicality, Alex Preston has firmly established himself at the helm of Australia’s underground house scene. He regularly appears on the ARIA club charts and has released on Armada Deep, BMKLTSCH RCRDS, and RCA (Sony US), among others. He’s picked up support from the like of Pete Tong, Fatboy Slim, Idris Elba, Oliver Heldens, and many more, while his live show is setting dancefloors alight all over Australia with an innovative blend of live guitar licks and mixing.

Alex is as comfortable in the studio as he is behind the decks and it shows with Ain’t Gonna Cry. The title track layers soulful disco samples on top of deep and funky bass lines while cascading grooves weave in and out of the beat. I Know I Got occupies darker territory but not with inspired guitar solos while Nobody Else sees Alex inject jumping beats next to tastefully crafted vocals.

Brimming with musicality and vitality, Ain’t Gonna Cry marks an exciting new direction for Alex Preston’s ever-evolving sound and the stat of an extremely successful 2019.
Alex Preston – Ain’t Gonna Cry is out 11th January

One of Australia’s most loved techno events: PURE, returns for its fourth year in 2019, to announce its biggest line-up to date! PURE, presented and curated by Carl Cox, Eric Powell of Bush Records and Richie McNeill of Hardware, will see Carl Cox (Intec, Australia), Marco Carola (Music On, Italy), Joseph Capriati (Redimension, Italy), Enrico Sangiuliano (Drumcode, Italy) and Eric Powell (Bush Records, Australia) take PURE to new heights in 2019.

After its first year in Ibiza winning ‘Best Event’ of the summer in September 2017, this year the Australian leg expands to include Adelaide fans for the first time alongside regulars: Sydney, Melbourne, Perth and Brisbane.  PURE 2019 will tour Australia over the Easter weekends in April 2019 and Adelaide will also be getting in on the action of Australia’s largest techno event! Adelaide ravers get ready!
Celebrating techno and house music, PURE has quickly established itself as a ‘must attend’ event for dance music fans, thanks to its reputation as an event where the audience can make a special connection with the DJs.

In April of 2016, Carl Cox launched the first instalment of his PURE event in Australia.  Taking place in Melbourne and Sydney, the event showcased players from the global Techno and House movements.
Marco Carola from Italy has enjoyed being a global techno ambassador, instrumental in the development of the electronic scene in the early 90’s.  Over twenty years later and Marco is still one of the most respected artists amongst the techno faithful, widely regarded as one of the key factors in driving the genre towards worldwide recognition within electronic music.  Joseph Capriati from Italy needs no introduction.  Now over a decade into his career as a globally touring DJ, there’s hardly an accolade he hasn’t achieved.  He is deservedly one of techno’s most in-demand headliners and continues to better himself as an artist.  Capriati’s brand of slick and emotive techno, delivered with precision, flair and infectious energy, has become a staple highlight of the global club and festival circuit.  Enrico Sangiuliano is a name you will have noted if you have been anywhere in the electronic music scene over the last few years.  International recognition came in 2015 with his remix of DJ Boris’s ‘Can You Hear Me’ on Alleanza, claiming the title as Beatport’s ‘highest selling techno track’ and being known for his driving techno, reminiscent of his peers Joseph Capriati and Marco Carola.

Join the crew for a night of Pure techno, delivered with incredible sound in an old fashioned no nonsense, no fluff rave atmosphere.
        Pure 2019 Lineup Line-up:
