Watch Porter Robinson drop a surprise Virtual Self set aboard Holy Ship

    Ozclubbers Staff

When they’re not too busy having sex with pizzas, Holy Ship punters are sure getting treated to some very special sets.

‘Shelter’ hitmaker Porter Robinson used his set aboard the floating festival to deliver a surprise performance of his new project/alias, Virtual Self, which he debuted only last month at a show in Brooklyn. Holy Ship and LA crew Brownies & Lemonade managed to catch pieces of his set, watch them below:

Robinson first teased the Virtual Self project in an interview with inthemix in February last year.

“I came home [after ‘Shelter’] and had a really great period of working on music and a lot of enthusiasm,” said Robinson. “The recent few months have been really great for me and the collaboration helped a lot. I can’t really confirm a new album for me necessarily. I just know that I’m working on a lot of music.”

He wasn’t lying: the debut Virtual Self EP dropped back in December, featuring hybrid house hardcore tracks like ‘Ghost Voices’ and ‘EON BREAK‘. He’ll back taking the project out on the road soon enough, with performances locked in at BUKU in New Orleans at at Ultra Miami’s 20th birthday celebrations in March.
