What So Not and Daniel Johns just dropped your new favourite banger

    OzClubbers

Sydney favourite What So Not and Silverchair frontman Daniel Johns have linked up for a fiery new collaboration, ‘Be Ok Again’.

It’s the second single from the Chris ‘Emoh’ Emerson since he dropped ‘Better’ back in Septemberand also the first track that Emerson has ever sung on. The collab apparently came about completely by chance, with Johns walking past a studio in which Emerson and Perth mates Slumberjack were jamming in.

“Dan seemed intrigued and started joking he had to leave before he decided to cancel his plans and track vocals with us for the next 10hrs,” Emerson wrote on Facebook yesterday. “A few days later, he reached out via a mutual friend and invited me up the coast to stay and work with him out of his home studio.”

“We clicked instantly on concepts, character development, sonics and writing styles, then locked onto one song in particular. ‘Be Ok Again’ was a really personal track for me. I was kind of embarrassed to show someone of his calibre as I had written and sung my own topline to feel out the idea.

“To my surprise, he loved it and not only was he happy to re-sing my parts, he encouraged me to keep my voice on the record. I ended up doing a bunch of writing trips to Daniel’s studio and safe to say he’s become quite a good friend and mentor.”

    Listen to the track below.

“The French two-piece who are beginning to build a real name for themselves” - YOU
Thrown into the electronic and hip-hop music scene at a young age, Trinix’s musical journey has developed into a sweet revival of the 90’s originated genre: French Touch. New effort Otherside continues this pop tinged, riff filled musical restoration. The exploration hits us with a sense of Trinix’s mesmerising production skill, expertly refined over the years.
In 2017, the two young French producers released their Hide EP that reached an incredible 15 million streams. Having always received strong support from youtube tastemakers MrSuicideSheep and Chill Nation, Trinix continue to distil their various influences in a skilful and modern mix. They oscillate between electro chill, tropical house, nu-funk and future bass in the most sophisticated of ways.
To continue the ride, more recent releases like tropical house track Close to Me build suspense in anticipation for their upcoming album release. With a total of 75 million streams and rising, it’s safe to say fans are eagerly awaiting their next promised body of work, May Day.
As Trinix’s first ever album, May Day comes after 2 years of solid work from the pair. The boys tell us: "The major theme of the album is the Space which we find fascinating by its diversity and which we absolutely want to symbolize thanks to "Mayday". All the titles have been selected with great difficulty and doubt among more than 60 compositions, to obtain a coherent and representative rendering of our Music".
Ahead of the upcoming album release, this new single is composed with a seriously funky rhythm, formidable chopped vocals and the deliciously soulful voice of Opé Smith. Otherside transforms what you know to be pop-house and adds delectably emotive lyrics to Trinix’s clean cut and consistently seamless production.

Here is a fresh new mix from us—and one that definitely gives us the warm and fuzzies!
      So, our '
Hello guest! Please register or sign in to view the hidden content. ' brand as a whole, the music we push—and, indeed, Andrew and I as individual DJs—is often centred around music on the lower, slower, deeper, warm-up tip. That is a label we've always worn with pride. Well, in this instance, our good friend, Flynn—of 'Move 4 Mood' fame—was kind enough to book us for a "peak time" set at The Flinders, and, with that, an opportunity to exercise our tougher, uptempo selections; as such, we did just that!
We were fortunate to enjoy a heaving, packed dance floor from start to finish, and we delivered a strong selection of suitable cuts—all while staying fairly true to our Attic sound. The crowd response was phenomenal and we had a wonderful time making it all happen—hence the "warm and fuzzies" mentioned above!
Hope you enjoy this one as much as we did!

Too Many Zooz are the subway sensation known for collaborating on Beyonce’s Lemonade as well as a searing series of live busking viral videos. Pioneering the sound of the streets, their recent single Warriors featured in the Google Pixel 2 advert, seeing the track garner huge TV plays across Europe, North & South America and Japan.
All of this brought the track to the attention of UK record producer KDA – whose previous single with Tinie Tempah & Katy B hit the UK Singles Chart at #1. Knocking up a bootleg, the momentum quickly grew as tastemakers including YouTube influencer channel SubSoul, club DJs Marco Carola, Busy P, Steve Lawler, Kevin Knapp and BBC Radio 1 DJs Annie Mac, Danny Howard, Pete Tong and MistaJam all lending their support.
Now an official Transatlantic collaboration between New York’s finest animal lovers, Too Many Zooz and (until recently) London’s most mysterious record producer KDA, Warriors has been picked up for release by the UK’s biggest dance music label, Ministry of Sound. As if that wasn’t enough, the collaboration has been given the highest tastemaker award in the country, being named as Annie Mac’s Hottest Record in the World.
Too Many Zooz have evolved their unique sound from a continuous stream of live street performance. Busy touring Europe, Too Many Zooz are made up of dancing sax wizard Leo P, the ferocious percussionist King of Sludge and nimble-fingered trumpeter Matt Doe. After meeting by chance, busking at Union Square Subway station in NYC, commuter-shot footage of their high-octane performances shot to viral fame.
South London boy, KDA, is known predominantly for his number one hit Turn the Music Louder featuring Katy B and Tinie Tempah. The track since achieved gold status and sold more than 500,000 copies. Having only just released himself from anonymity, KDA is the sought-after producer behind Just Say and Hate Me. KDA’s DJ support is an endless list of equally varied tastemakers including the likes of Jackmaster, Seth Troxler, Black Madonna and Jamie Jones.
Bringing Too Many Zooz’ raw, untamed sound of the subway and KDA’s sleek and rhythmic dance music power, the new version of Warriors demands your attention. A clash between two acts that has created an undeniable summer anthem.
