Wiwek Says Skrillex Stole His Girl And Urges Us to Throw “Killa” In The Trash

    Guest

The connection between Skrillex and Wiwek sparked a monstrous hit with “Killa” and an incredible, cinematic short movie, but now the latter is asking us to throw it in the trash…

Apparently Skrillex stole Wiwek’s girl, and now the “Killa” collab is dead to him. This revealing social media post was tweeted and deleted — but not before it was screenshotted.

Skrillex and Wiwek have since unfollowed each other on Twitter, further suggesting the falling out between the OWSLA founder and the jungle terror DJ/producer.

Sorry, Wiwek… if the claim is true, that really sucks. We’re also sorry we can’t simply throw this song in the trash because it’s too damn good. See more fan responses below.

Alex Preston has produced a new EP for Sonny Fodera’s growing Solotoko label. Titled Ain’t Gonna Cry, the EP sees the Australian DJ / producer showcase his exciting new style of underground house music, which fuses tasteful guitar licks and disco tinged funky basslines. Accompanied by a new live show that utilises Alex Preston’s virtuosic talents as an instrumentalist, Ain’t Gonna Cry is set to kick off 2019 with a bang for the Sydney-native whose career keeps growing year on year.

Since bursting onto the scene a few years back with his deft production abilities and raw aptitude for musicality, Alex Preston has firmly established himself at the helm of Australia’s underground house scene. He regularly appears on the ARIA club charts and has released on Armada Deep, BMKLTSCH RCRDS, and RCA (Sony US), among others. He’s picked up support from the like of Pete Tong, Fatboy Slim, Idris Elba, Oliver Heldens, and many more, while his live show is setting dancefloors alight all over Australia with an innovative blend of live guitar licks and mixing.

Alex is as comfortable in the studio as he is behind the decks and it shows with Ain’t Gonna Cry. The title track layers soulful disco samples on top of deep and funky bass lines while cascading grooves weave in and out of the beat. I Know I Got occupies darker territory but not with inspired guitar solos while Nobody Else sees Alex inject jumping beats next to tastefully crafted vocals.

Brimming with musicality and vitality, Ain’t Gonna Cry marks an exciting new direction for Alex Preston’s ever-evolving sound and the stat of an extremely successful 2019.
Alex Preston – Ain’t Gonna Cry is out 11th January

Following on from tech-house smash Generate earlier this year, Flash 89 is welcomed to the esteemed Solotoko label by head honcho himself Sonny Fodera, for latest killer release in the form of the Tattle Tail EP.

Lead EP track Tattle Tail is a rhythmic stomper on first listen, with an invigorating bassline underpinned beneath stuttering clicks and pulses that surrounds a grooving diva vocal. Meanwhile, Lofty transports us to deeper dimensions with an exhilarating build up that ascends into a club ready beast.

Flash 89 is a name that is continuing to magnify in size on the scene, turning the heads of underground peers and tastemakers alike. It was his remix of PNAU’s Go Bang that catapulted him beyond the Australian landscape landing him plays on BBC Radio 1. Shortly after, hefty club tracks continued to follow including Generate and the Blueprint EP as well as collaboration with Sonny Fodera himself on The Sytem via Adobe. With these slew of hair raising tracks already under his belt it’s no wonder Flash 89 gets the nod of approval from the likes of Danny Howard, De La Swing, Eli Brown, Detlef, Richy Ahmed, Huxley and more. With more material up his sleeves, prepare for Australia’s next high riser to dominate the dance circuit globally.
