Warp Arts and Club 77 present SOON TO BE: A series of monthly events aiming to explore the experimental side of electronic music.

      ────────

Our second installation will feature a live set from Fabrics ?

Fabrics is the alias of Sydney underground mainstay Alex Psaltis. No stranger to the local live circuit, Fabrics has supported an array of forward thinking experimental artists, including that of Avalon Emerson, Rival Consoles, Blanck Mass, Voiski, μ-Ziq and Rings Around Saturn. His debut festival appearance was in 2018 at the esteemed Sydney experimental festival Soft Centre.

His music is a melding of propulsive electronics with expansive spectral textures. Using a combination of analogue and digital synthesis, his productions and live sets traverse a wide range of moods and styles.

After gaining traction in 2018, after the release of his debut EP InnerTerror through AfterHour Recordings, Fabrics has recently been assigned to Australian music agency Nectar, combining forces with the likes of Andy Garvey (Pure Space / triple j), Amelia Jenner (Body Promise / FBi Radio), Tia Newling (Boiler Room / FBi Radio) and Jemma Cole (Soft Centre).

What makes Fabrics so unique is his appreciation for moody electronica. He incorporates an array of deep, dark and progressive sounds in order to lead his audience through a variation of emotional instrumentation. Fabrics is able to diversify the common dance floor experience as he seamlessly intertwines both melodic and rhythmic electronic styles.

Nat James will feature as our second headliner. After recently being inducted into Nectar, she is definitely one to keep an eye on with her unique obsession with collecting records that delve into the left-field and experimental side of electronic music. Recent supports include Simo Cell and Moopie, as well as mixes for Apsis &amp: Steeplejack.

      ────────

      Supports:
      ?Nat James
      ?Josh Gapes
      ?Savvy B
      ?Robin Sen

      Tickets available now via bit.ly/warpfabrics

      ────────

Warp enforces a strict no photo policy. We kindly ask that you respect this rule: no photos, no videos, no phones. ?

      ────────

Friday 28th June, we’re wrapping up the last BASSIC of the month with international heavyweight SVDDEN DEATH making his highly-anticipated debut at the club joined by one of Australia’s rising Dubstep stars AXEN.

With the release of his first EP through the well-known Never Say Die: Black Label as well as singles released via Buygore Record's newest imprint Fresh Blood - SVDDEN DEATH has made his mark in the bass scene and will be one to watch.

Saturday 29th June, LNDRY closes up the month of June this time with Huxley, Marc Spence &amp: Andy Garvey (hosted by Obsession) to keep the good times rolling all night long!

Huxley has delivered releases for an enviable roster of labels (Tsuba, Morris Audio, Fear of Flying, Hypercolour and 20:20 Vision for starters) and has stayed true to his robust, bass-led strain of house music that reflects his formative interests in UK and US Garage, with critics, punters and peers lapping up each release and remix.

Marc Spence has been honing his studio skills for over 8 years and his solo productions have led to releases on Shadow Child’s Food Music as well as being a firm favourite on Low Steppa’s Simma Black label. Marc’s high energy sets have enabled him to support the likes of Switch, Zinc, Annie Mac, Duke Dumont, Claude Vonstroke and Justin Martin just to name a few. Marc’s a big believer that there’s a time and place for all music &amp: the art of being a great Dj is knowing when that is.

We kick off our ALL NIGHT LONG series at the social with an OG selector that needs no introduction.

      ?Simon Caldwell
      https://soundcloud.com/dj-simon-caldwell

Playing since the early 1990’s to beer drinkers, bum shakers and radio listeners alike, he has managed to avoid the stifling 'style' classification so many other DJ's trap themselves into, keeping himself free to draw on his varied loves of deep, soulful house, techno, funk, jazz, electro, booty, hip hop and anything else which catches his ear.

Simon has supported (on the same stage) a list of internationals longer than your arm, including Theo Parrish, James Brown, DJ Sotofett, Todd Terje, Rolando, Herbert, Claude Young, Maurice Fulton, Grace Jones, Derrick Carter, Vakula, Moodymann, Actress, Onra, Moritz von Oswald, Charles Webster, Fred P and Frankie Knuckles, to name just a few.

He currently holds down Monday Sunsets on FBI Radio, and is resident/co-promoter of Mad Racket, a Sydney underground party institution running since 1998. We look forward to an open to close set from the maestro as he takes us on a journey through space, time and his rather impressive record collection.

Saddling up across Day and Night we host a Flying Dutchman and a Smooth Swissman, glued together by a string of local late night luminaries.

Flynn⁴ aka Flynn Dizzle aka Flynn Diesel debuts at SASH to open Day for the Fast and Furious cast that follows. Ben Pailas turns on the heater to keep your toes warm before Litmus makes that central heating hum at a nice pace. Closing Day and headlining the affair we present a Dutch debut from TOMAN. Expect pace and swing, I’m keen Too-man.

      ★ TOMAN ★
The Dam has long been considered a fertile breeding ground for electronic music, and we are certainly taking advantage of the produce being fertilised. One man who’s very much indicative of Holland’s new era of talent is TOMAN. His fresh sound injects the pace and swing that Sydney is craving. What better way to ring in his SASH debut with a set closing Day.

Glitched and groovy, from Sunwaves to Sydney, ALCI returns. Since breaking through in 2013 with a release on Phil Week’s Robsoul Recordings, ALCI has enjoyed a string of positively lauded releases on Apollonia, SEEING SOUNDS, Sunday Breakfast Zurich, Meander and Æternum Music. Saturday 6th July, hailing all the way from Brazil we welcome Drumcode's very own Wehbba as well as our favourite Melbournian-Martian Stace Cadet making a hot return to LNDRY!

Wehbba has long been considered one a premiere electronic music producers and DJ. 2018 has been a stellar year for Wehbba, smashing two stellar EP’s as well as gaining support from names like Ben Klock, Adam Beyer, Carl Cox, Charlotte De Witte, Amelie Lens, Joseph Capriati and Pan-Pot all summer long. Wehbba had a huge year of gigs too, joining Drumcode at OFF Week in Barcelona, with further dates at Resistance in Ibiza, Warehouse Project in Manchester, fabric in London, Motion in Bristol, Rex Club in Paris, Watergate in Berlin to mention a few. Keep an eye out for him in 2019 as it only gets bigger and better from here!

Stace Cadet landed on the scene late 2016 with his cult weapon ‘Molly Happy’ which rocketed him to the top of the ARIA Charts. After hitting the ground running, Stace Cadet snatched a Beatport #1 with his weird and wonderful ‘Pushing The Bike’ followed by another ARIA #1 - a collaboration with Hood Rich called ‘One Way’. Fast forward to 2019, Stace released a record earlier in the year called “Abracadabra” which has been doing the rounds in the Australian House circuit and now returns with a sizeable tour for his brand new single “The Circus”. Houston, no problem… lets dance!!!

      IMPORTANT INFO
      ---------------------
The venue has two levels to enjoy and we have carefully curated the music across both levels to take full advantage of this.

Understandably not everyone can be downstairs in The Underground level at the same time but if it's at capacity enjoy a drink and a dance upstairs at The Social and get back down as the club continues to flow throughout the night.

Both levels are fitted with world class Void Acoustic sound systems and our bars are licensed till 3am, with music carrying on until 4am.

    2. Hi everyone,

I've been hard at it again over the past few months, and as you may have noticed, the site is not only becoming a one-stop-shop for everything about clubbing, but even running smoother and faster!  As part of it becoming a one-stop-shop, here's some new things that have been added  :)

      News and Reviews

The News and Reviews section has launched!  Not only are we getting syndicated feeds from a number of reputable sources in the electronic music industry, but we have our own writers posting news and reviews!  This makes Ozclubbers.com.au a single place that you can go to get all the news, rather than jumping to multiple different websites across your day.

Of course, we are always on the lookout for more writers, so if you think you can contribute, head over to https://ozclubbers.com.au/application and send us through an application!

      Events

Firstly, we have opened up Event Adding so that you no longer need to be a member to add your event.  If you aren't a member, you will need to wait for your event to be approved by a moderator before it appears on the site.  If you are a member, not only is your event is automatically approved, but you can respond to comments and view the RSVP list.  To add an event, go to https://ozclubbers.com.au/calendar/submit.  Remember, adding events is completely free!

Secondly, we have linked up with a number of venues to have their Facebook events now appear on our Calendar. So not only will you see events that various event promoters post up, you'll also get to see the events from venues as well.
If you are a venue, and would like to get your Facebook events linked up to appear on Ozclubbers, get in touch with @AdamMadd and we can arrange it - it costs you absolutely nothing!

And lastly, for those in Brisbane, any events added to the Brisbane calendar will automatically appear on the Brisbane Social and The Valley facebook pages.  Great way to get free promotion!
If you are the owner/manager of a Facebook page in your city dedicated to the clubbing and electronic music scene, get in touch with @AdamMadd and we can get events appearing on your page automatically too!

      Newsletters
We now have weekly newsletters which give you all the news, events, forum topics, blogs, photos, etc all in one email!  You can subscribe and unsubscribe to these by visiting https://ozclubbers.com.au/settings/?area=newsletters and selecting the newsletters relevant to you from there.

      Music Wiki

Our brand new feature is a Music Wiki.  This is a community-driven place to define the various different styles of electronic music.  You can also search through it if you don't know what a particular genre or style is.  This wiki is completely community driven, so we need your input to add and update the information on it.  You can find this under the Music menu, or by jumping to https://ozclubbers.com.au/musicwiki/

      New Brisbane Photographer

We want to take a moment to welcome our new photographer in Brisbane, @harry_jwhite. Harry has a vast array of experience in photography and is keen to help out the scene as much as possible.

We are still looking for volunteer photographers in other cities as well, so if you are a bit of a socialite, have a decent camera, and like getting free entry to events, get in touch with us at https://ozclubbers.com.au/application

      Forums

The forums have had a bit of an update.  You can now view the Forums in a "stream" view, which lets you filter all the active threads by forum topic using options on the right hand side of the page.  This gives you the chance to see all the topics that interest you, but without the need to jump back and forth around the site.

Thats about it for now.  Thanks again for being part of our community, and if you like what we are doing, please share the site around!

      Cheers

      Adam Madd

    4. IN COMFORTABLE silence we sat for the first few puffs before John mused, "Not long to go now."

      34868624501_4e61ac013a_b.jpg

"Mmm," I answered, enjoying the hazy blanket descending from the outside in.

A pause. "Are you sure you want to go through with this?"

      "Yeah man, I have too."

"But you know, you are, well, kind of useless right?"

I wasn't offended. John's words were voiced with affection and a fair amount of prior experience.

"I like to think of myself as endearingly useless bro."

"That's still useless. Do you really think you can pull this off?"

      "No, not really.”

      The spliff savoured. Passed back.

“But it’s sure going to be a trip finding out."

John leaned back, looked up and laughed. "Well I guess it's good that you've stopped this straight edge bollocks then. You know, before it felt as if you hung out with us because you had too. Now it feels like you want too."

John still thought my travels might chemically lobotomise; but at least now I should have some fun along the way.

      * * * *

SO OKAY, I wasn't some electronic prophet destined to lead a straight edge revolution. People of all ages weren't going to flood the dance scene for the good of their health due to my example.

I was an ageing hedonist heading for one final blowout and all things were back on the table. I had no idea what the next few months held, what they would mean. I hoped meaning would be found. I was searching for secrets and mysteries and magic - for an end worthy of the name. And I was scared shitless. And it was going to be great . . . I hoped.
