  5. While the formidable trance trio Above & Beyond has yet to embark on their forthcoming “Common Ground” tour in honor of their upcoming album of the same name — to be released in January —the group’s already announced an incredibly exciting denouement of the tour. Fans of the ensemble can expect a cinematic deliverance from the three, now set to conclude in Miami at the famed RC Cola Plant during Miami Music Week on March 22, 2018 alongside Seven Lions. Abandoned in the early ’90s, the RC Cola Plant has since become a haven for street and graffiti artists alike. Above & Beyond’s takeover of the venue will follow-up their two previous sold-out jaunts there in previous years. The “Common Ground” tour is poised to be Above & Beyond’s biggest tour to date, and includes massive headline slots at The Hollywood Bowl, Madison Square Garden, Sydney Opera House, Royal Albert Hall, Alexandra Palace, London, Amsterdam’s Ziggo Dome, The O2 Arena, Red Rocks and The Gorge Amphitheater, and many more. Attendees are sure to see the new, expectedly evocative album play out before their eyes. 6. Above & Beyond‘s latest single, “Northern Soul,” brings together the emotional vocals of Richard Bedford with powerful, pop-infused trance sounds to create a haunting ballad of a great American city. The single marks tribute to the city of Detroit and its gallant tribute to music. Above & Beyond’s Tony McGuinness tells of their connection to the city. “We’ve had ties to Detroit since before we met. Along with the world’s best chrome wheels the city gave us all such sweet soul music, Aretha Franklin, Gladys Knight, Smokey Robinson and The Miracles, Stevie Wonder and the rest of the legendary Tamla Motown alumni, The Parliaments, Patti Smith, The White Stripes and Eminem – the list is endless. And let’s not forget techno, without whom etc. So we’re all hugely indebted to Detroit. We tried a lot of singers, many of them great in their own way, but you have to hand it to Richard Bedford – his performance is fabulous and real and human – above all he makes it believable.” The video for the release itself paints a story of a grey-scale city composed of dots that mold together to create different formations of houses and landscape that mimic the landscape of the Motor City. As the video progresses, bright colors begin to take the place of the once grey dots, in unison with lyrics depicting the strong resilience and grit that Detroit represents. Common Ground is set to release in early 2018 in conjunction with a nationwide tour. 7. The 2017 year is not closing quietly for Above & Beyond, with the electronic group’s recent announcement that its sixth LP, Common Ground, is due in late January and an accompanying US tour that is set to span more than 25 total stops. In the midst of Above & Beyond’s nonstop momentum arrives Above & Beyond Acoustic—Giving Up The Day Job, a concert documentary that will focus on the award winning trio’s foray into an acoustic aesthetic in 2016. “Above & Beyond Acoustic” saw the electronic group embark on an 11-city acoustic tour for the release of Acoustic II, Above & Beyond’s response to their 2014 breakthrough acoustic album, Acoustic. The tour directed the electronic trio to a number of prestigious sold out venues ranging from the Hollywood Bowl to the Sydney Opera House, the group’s deviation from electronic beats necessitating a traveling party comprised of 17 musicians, and 34 additional Los Angeles-based classical players. Produced in conjunction with Abramorama, the concert documentary will offer Above & Beyond fans an intimate look at the complexities and unseen moments culminating in the group’s prior acoustic initiative. A respected distributor of music-driven documentaries, Abramorama has worked with a variety of artists, producing documentaries for The Beatles, Green Day, and Neil Young, among others. Above & Beyond Acoustic—Giving Up The Day Job will theatrically debut alongside Above & Beyond’s US tour at the beginning of 2018 as part of Abramorama’s theatrical campaign for the documentary. The full length film is expected to be released around the world in the months that follow the production’s theatrical campaign. “The acoustic project was a huge undertaking for us but the end result was massively rewarding,” Above & Beyond state of their departure from their electronic niche, “We look forward to collaborating with Abramorama on the release of the film and sharing our acoustic experience with fans around the world.” Read More: Above & Beyond infuses pop into trance with latest release, Northern Soul Above & Beyond releases emphatic, extended mix of My Own Hymn Above &; Beyond announces upcoming ‘Common Ground’ album & NA tour Source: Dancing Astonaut

Aly & Fila – Beyond The Lights

Ever since their first studio album back in 2010, Aly & Fila have honed their musical skills and in the process revolutionized dance music with their passion for trance and their unwavering support from millions of fans worldwide. Their eagerly anticipated new artist album Beyond The Lights displays these superstars’ diversity and incredible talent, and is a journey through musical styles and their inspirations. Beyond The Lights features many notable collaborations with fellow producers and sought after vocalists including Ferry Corsten, Emma Hewitt, Ana Criado and HALIENE as well as solo instrumentals from Aly & Fila themselves. The title track of the album was the first single to be released and has already seen itself top numerous dance charts around the world. Aly & Fila’s collaboration with Paul Thomas showed their passion not only for trance but also for a more progressive arrow in the duo’s quiver, while the final track pays tribute to one of the industry’s most loved individuals, Robert Miles, who sadly passed away earlier in the year.
