Kronic - Have A Drink On Me

Kronic, this is a name many in the aussie electronic music industry are familiar with. He’s done a raft of remixes and original tracks over the 5+ years he’s been producing, with remixes for the likes of Lady Gaga, R.Kelly, Afrojack, and many more. But like many in this industry when you reach a level such as this, he struggled with addiction. His new track, “Have A Drink On Me” is one of the most personal tracks he has produced, really exposing his addiction troubles and the road to recovery. This new track features the vocals of Evan Ross – better known as Massalla in The Hunger Games and as the son of Diana Ross. It starts off right off the bat as a real downtempo thumping tune, speaking of waking up the night after a big night – something I’m sure we can all relate to. But if you listen closer, you notice a story being exposed. This is not a story about someone giving you free alcohol, this is a very tender story of alcohol addiction and overcoming it. Story aside, this song has a real great bassline, nice dirty electronic sound that we haven’t heard for a while now. Its very reminiscent of that dirty house sound that was coming out of the Vicious camp around over 10 years ago, but slowed down and modernised for 2018. Central Station were right to snap this track up, it has the potential to really go far! Listen or buy it here: https://csr.lnk.to/HaveADrink
  6. Sometimes artists can say incredibly profound things. Beautiful sentiments that mold the life on the road with simple pleasures enjoyed by all humans. Messages of love, support and understanding that profoundly impact huge numbers of individuals. Then sometimes they accidentally tweet with there but and you get this: Ajajajajajajajajajajajajajshsshshshwjsjshdhedhsjsjsjdhshdhshxshxhsjdjsjdjsjdjsjddjsjdjdjsjdsbshshdjwjsksjdjdjdjsjsjsjsjssjsjwiwisisjsjsjsjsjsjsndjckffkfkfkdjdjdjskskdkdkfkfkdjsksksjdjdjdjdkdkdkdkdjfjdjskdkdkskskdjdjsjdjsjsjsjsjsjsjsjsjskwskdjdndbdbdbdjcjdjrbrjdjdjddjdbrjdjdjdjdje — Eric Prydz (@ericprydz) November 25, The post Eric Prydz Accidently Tweets Nonsense And Fans Hilariously Have A Field Day appeared first on EDM Sauce. 7. Skrillex and Diplo used to be the most epic bromance in all of EDM. The duo teamed up as Jack U and the project was hailed at the most impressive super group since Swedish House Mafia ended their reign of glory. Of course all good things had to come to an end. 8. While the toxicology report containing the specific details of Lil Peep’s death has yet to arrive, police in Tucson, Arizona have reportedly received information regarding the potential presence of fentanyl in the drugs ingested by Lil Peep prior to his death. A potent synthetic opioid, fentanyl is 50 to 100 times more powerful than morphine, leading to an increased risk of overdose for users of drugs cut with the opioid. Fentanyl additionally augments the addictive quality of addictive substances, further increasing the chance for drug addiction and related overdoses. Fentanyl has appeared as a substance used to cut drugs on the black market, despite its toxicity — an amount of fentanyl the size of a mere grain of salt can materialize as a lethal dose. Fentanyl overdose victims are generally unaware that the drugs that they take are laced with fentanyl at the time of consumption. Lil Peep’s brother, Karl Ahr, stated earlier this month that the family had been informed by an unspecified source that fentanyl laced drugs could have played a part in the rapper’s death. “We have heard there was some sort of substance he did not expect to be involved in the substance he was taking,” Ahr said. “He [Lil Peep] thought he could take what he did, but he had been given something and he didn’t realize what it was.” Ahr believes Lil Peep’s death to have been a tragic accident. The artist’s death was determined to be a drug overdose by the local medical examiner’s office. Lil Peep’s toxicology report will be able to identify whether fentanyl was indeed involved in the overdose. Toxicology reports generally become available from a six to eight-week period. 9. The first time Diplo tapped Danish vocalist MØ to feature on a track, it was for Major Lazer’s 2015 globe-conquering smash ‘Lean On‘. The second time around, it was for their 2016 hit ‘Cold Water‘, alongside Justin Bieber. Now, the two hitmakers have teamed up yet again for another huge track called ‘Get It Right’. Read More Diplo's Burning Man set is online and damn, it's good   The song is part of the soundtrack for Diplo’s upcoming documentary Give Me Future, which chronicles Major Lazer’s historic show in Cuba last year. Major Lazer were one of the first US bands to play in Cuba since the two countries restored their diplomatic relations in 2015; over 400,000 reportedly attended their show in the capital of Havana. Give Me Future drops tomorrow — but for now, get your ears around ‘Get It Right’ below. The post Diplo and MØ have teamed up again on your new summer anthem appeared first on inthemix. 10. It’s official – Twitter is bumping up the character limit for all users to 280 characters. Since its inception, Twitter has limited its users to 140 characters; however, since beta testing the new cap with select users, Twitter has seen more likes, retweets, mentions, and followers go to those users. This could, of course, be due to the special nature of those users and the fact that they had something that others didn’t. It will be interesting to see what happens when all users have the function available for use. As Syndrome says, “When everyone’s super, no one is.” Don’t worry if you can’t do it immediately, a company spokesperson cautioned that it could take up to two hours to take effect in all apps around the world. 11. OMG! The circle of life continues… Walt Disney‘s beloved animated musical The Lion King (1994) is being remade and before you pounce on any conclusions, just check out the casting for this epic feature film! First up, Beyoncé is playing Nala. Slay. Donald Glover is playing the star, Simba. Dope. From there, every single casted role is so on point it’s scary. James Earl Jones is Mufasa, and we’re already crying over it. Seth Rogan is Pumbaa, which is so fitting. However, John Oliver as Zazu and Eric André as one of the hyenas might be the most brilliant castings of them all. “#TheLionKing 2019,” is all Queen Bey just shared, because the image featuring a pack of insanely talented actors speaks for itself. But that’s not all… Hans Zimmer makes his return to score the film, as he did wonders with the original. Walt Disney Pictures has also enlisted in director and producer Jon Favreau to make The Lion King come back to life. The return to Pride Rock has clearly been Hollywood’s best kept secret until now… We just can’t wait (for this film) to be king (of the box office)! 12. Dance music’s resident funnyman Dillon Francis has just dropped the official video for his new single ‘Hello There’ — and we think he might have finally outdone himself on this one. The LA producer plays every character in the vid, which is a glorious piss take of cheesy, US talk show culture. It was directed by comedy crew The Dads, who you might know from a bunch of Funny or Die videos. Read More You need to watch Dillon Francis furiously recapping The Bachelor   “The video for ‘Hello There’ is my favourite thus far in my career,” said Francis. “Working with The Dads was almost as insane as playing all the different characters in the video.” It might be the best performance from Francis since he played a speed-dealer wearing, spiked-hair rocking, party-crashing DJ for hire in his 2016 vid for ‘Need You’. Get your eyes around it below. ‘Hello There’ is the second release from Francis this year, with his G-Eazy collaboration ‘Say Less‘ dropping back in April. 13. Amidst news that the iPhone 7 is still far outselling the new iPhone 8 series, Apple’s stock has fallen 2.4 percent. This is in conjunction with reports out of Taiwan that, according to the NY Post, Apple has “slashed orders for the iPhone 8 and 8 Plus by nearly 50 percent for the rest of the year.” [emphasis ours] This isn’t terribly surprising, given the horrid marketing and timing of the iPhone 8. With the iPhone 8 only barely better than its predecessor, and another, better phone on the way soon after, the iPhone 8 was doomed to fail from the very beginning. iPhone 7 is still $150 cheaper than the iPhone 8, as well. According to Taiwan’s Economic Daily News, “Apple has never cut production of an iPhone so early in the cycle.”   via NY Post This article was first published on Your EDM. 14. Much like Porter Robinson’s live edit of “Fresh Static Snow,” Illenium has crafted an absolutely out of this world live edit to his remix of Flume’s “Say It.” The VIP has been in his sets since at least Electric Forest this year, possibly even earlier. The vocals come in as they do in his original remix, but the drop descends into absolute sonic madness with heavily distorted bass and bone crunching percussion, accompanied by visuals that perfectly match the vibe. The video below was taken at this year’s debut Lost Lands festival, created by Excision. Will this VIP ever see the light of day as an official release? Who knows… but the Illenium fam is strong and dedicated, there’s sure to be a live HQ rip floating around soon. This article was first published on Your EDM. 15. A strange YouTube video could have something to do with the recent success of Post Malone‘s #1 hit song “Rockstar” featuring 21 Savage… The official upload by Malone’s label Republic Records features the song’s chorus on a loop for 3:38 straight — and it flows so well that listeners might not even notice it’s not the actual track. This is perhaps a ploy to grab people’s attention immediately with the catchiest part of “Rockstar,” and the play count seems to agree. The looped clip, which links to the full version on all streaming platforms, already has over 44 million views and counting. That makes for an average of more than a million views per day, and could very well have something to do with “Rockstar” reaching #1 on the Billboard Hot 100. Much like a remix counts toward a song’s success on the charts, this looped video could be racking up critical plays for the rapper. Check out the video in question below and follow along with the lyrics… By the end of the loop you’ll have the chorus down, no problem. I’ve been fuckin’ hoes and poppin’ pillies Man, I feel just like a rockstar (star) Ayy, ayy, all my brothers got that gas And they always be smokin’ like a Rasta Fuckin’ with me, call up on a Uzi And show up, man them the shottas When my homies pull up on your block They make that thing go grrra-ta-ta-ta (pow, pow, pow) Post Malone feat. 21 Savage – Rockstar (Looped Version) Source: The Fader This article was first published on Your EDM.
