  3. MasterClass, the premier online education platform, announced today that legendary DJ Armin van Buuren is teaching his first ever online class. The class is open for pre-enrollment starting today at www.masterclass.com/avb. Enrollment in the class is $90, or $180 per year for unlimited access to all new and existing MasterClasses with the All-Access Pass. Each enrollment option can also be given as a gift. Armin van Buuren, one of the most influential figures in the global dance scene, has topped the Billboard charts, attracted tens of millions of worldwide listeners to his weekly radioshow “A State of Trance,” and landed a record-setting five No. 1 DJ awards from DJ Mag’s Top 100 DJs. The Grammy-nominated artist’s work has spanned major evolutions in dance music, from spinning with vinyl in small clubs to headlining global dance festivals. In his 20th year as an artist, van Buuren will share insights about what it takes to get established in the competitive and ever-changing business of dance music. Students will get an intimate look into the artist’s creative process as van Buuren creates a track from scratch specifically for his MasterClass. Aspiring producers will learn his pillars for becoming a world-class DJ—production, performance, and promotion. The class dives into the more technical aspects of producing, including mixing, arranging, and building dance-worthy drops. “Nowadays, to be a successful artist and DJ, it’s not enough to just know how to spin records. If you want to stand out, you need to make your own records, write music, and make remixes and mashups for your DJ sets. I’m truly excited to share my passion for producing music and DJing in my MasterClass,” said Armin van Buuren, MasterClass instructor. “It’s the first time I get to show you my secrets and tips, and everything I’ve learned in my twenty years in this business.”   “Armin is an international icon of dance music. Despite his musical genius, he has stayed humble, hard-working, earnestly connected to his fans, and has never lost sight of the joy in his work. His passion for teaching is infectious. There really is an art and science to making people dance — it has to do with sculpting sound, mixing, and arranging songs for maximum impact — that’s Armin’s mastery, and he’s certainly one of the best to ever do it,” said David Rogier, CEO and Co-Founder of MasterClass. MasterClass is an online education company which provides classes from world-renowned instructors, making it possible for anyone to learn from the best. Each class offers a unique learning experience which includes video lessons from the instructor, interactive exercises, course materials, peer interaction, and more. All classes are available online for individual purchase at www.masterclass.com. The post MasterClass Announces Armin van Buuren to Teach Dance Music appeared first on Trance Hub. Source: Trance News

  6. Factory 93 has once again completely transformed a stereotypical Los Angeles venue into an underground oasis for music lovers in the heart of Hollywood. Saturday the quickly growing Insomniac brand specifically for House and Techno music aficionados took over the Hollywood Palladium, one of the oldest and most well known performances venues in Los Angeles. This venue, which opened in 1940, has featured artists like: the Tommy Dorsey band featuring Frank Sinatra, who performed the night the venue first opened its doors; iconic rock artists including The Who and Led Zeppelin; more recent pop artists like Justin Timberlake; and, this past weekend it played host to house music legends Solomun and his +1 Hot Since 82. Only a huge brand like Insomniac could pull an event like this off while also completely changing a well known concert venue into a living and breathing nightclub atmosphere where the social environment is as important as the music. From its forays at EDC to the collaboration with Exchange LA, a nightclub housed in the former stock market downtown, to the warehouse renovation in order to give Factory 93 a home in Los Angeles: the Insomniac brand has always understood the concept of the social requirements of electronic music. We go out to see certain artists and to dance, that is a givien; however, we go out to see and experience each other too. Initially I was slightly disappointed such a huge event as a Solomun+1 show would be happening at the Palladium, no matter how iconic it is. This venue is a concert venue and organized for fans to watch a show. Yes, dance music artists have played there before, but the set up does not encourage the interactive dancing and social atmosphere which a nightclub inherently has. However, upon walking in I immediately realized that for a Factory 93 event one will never get simply what they expect. The production team had completely reoriented the space and transformed the giant venue into a oblong nightclub. They built their own stage on the far left side rather than use the stage to the front of the entrance. It was fully equipped with lasers and led panels completed by a disco ball covering the crowd in prismatic glitter. They put in extra bars along where the stage normally sits which enhanced the nightclub atmosphere and reduced wait times to grab a drink. The entire venue was a bar and the entire bar was the dance floor. Hot Since 82 came on and enticed the crowd into a dance. However, the atmosphere created allowed for the chatting one can expect at the beginning of the night out in any city. As his set continued the white noise began to dissipate as his tone became a little deeper leading in perfectly to Solomun himself. The sets merged together seamlessly. I had not seen Solomun in action before and it was truly mesmerizing. The Factory 93 team had perfectly designed the visuals to enhance his music without being too distracting. The lasers hit at just the right moments and certain drops brought a flood of light allowing the smiles from across the room to be shared by all. Fans dancers waved brought a touch of a breeze to us all as we sweat together and danced the night away. They ended with a b2b set which tapered off every so slightly from the depth Solomun had brought us into and allowed us to make our way out and back into reality again. The only odd thing about the whole setup was that the VIP area was directly above the stage. People who had paid more money for a table or VIP access had no view of the DJs or stage itself. They did, however, have access to an exclusive bar and bathroom without a line. Also, there was no reason they couldn’t go downstairs and merge with the rest of the crowd. I can see how some people may have been put off; but, the venue was more of a nightclub than a concert venue. I think it may have forced more interaction than would have been the case on a normal night in Hollywood. Hollywood is a city where people love to feel exclusive. The show brought out an interesting mix of the Hollywood norm of bandage dresses and heels alongside bros wearing Factory 93 snapbacks and girls in glitter and combat boots. It was an amalgamation on Hollywood and the dance music community and Factory 93 created the perfect space for mixing without overemphasizing exclusivity. The change put everyone on more equal footing and the rearrangement made the dance floor large enough to accommodate a large crown without overcrowding. Solomun+1 was a huge success and I think perfectly highlights what Insomniac is seeking to do with the Factory 93 brand: bring together underground music lovers in safe spaces to share and experience music and culture. They never settle to simply use a venue the way it is but transform it to perfectly fit the artists and fans they bring into the space. It felt like I was in a new nightclub event though the Palladium has been around since the Golden Age of Hollywood. It shows Factory 93’s understanding of underground culture and I am excited for more collaborations with artists and venues to come in 2018. /*noinspection ALL*/ .dynamic_css { border: 0px solid #000000 !important; border-radius: 0px !important; -moz-border-radius: 0px !important; -webkit-border-radius: 0px !important; -khtml-border-radius: 0px !important; -o-border-radius: 0px !important; } p:empty { margin :0px !important; } .dynamic_css img { margin: 0 !important; padding: 0 !important; border: 0 !important; } .dynamic_css p { margin :0px !important; } .thumbnail_width8214 { width: 160px !important; height: 120px !important; box-sizing: border-box !important; } .images-in-row_8214 a, .widget-images-in-row_8214 a { border-bottom: none !important; } .images-in-row_8214 p, .widget-images-in-row_8214 p { margin :0px !important; } /*noinspection ALL*/ .imgLiquidFill { width: 160px !important; box-sizing: border-box !important; height: 120px !important; } .images-in-row_8214 { height: 270px !important; width: 850px !important; clear: both; } .images-in-row_8214 a { text-decoration:none !important; } .margin_thumbs { margin-right: 5px !important; margin-bottom: 5px !important; } .gallery-bank-filter-categories a { text-decoration: none !important; font-family: Verdana !important; font-size: 12px !important; } .gallery-bank-filter .gallery-bank-filter-categories a.act:first-child { background-color: #2a83ed !important; color: #ffffff !important; font-family: Verdana !important; font-size: 12px !important; } .gallery-bank-filter .gallery-bank-filter-categories a.act { background-color: #2a83ed !important; color: #ffffff !important; font-family: Verdana !important;; font-size: 12px !important; } .gallery-bank-filter .gallery-bank-filter-categories a.act:last-child { background-color: #2a83ed !important; color: #ffffff !important; font-family: Verdana !important; font-size: 12px !important; } .gallery-bank-filter-categories a:hover { color: #2a83ed !important; } /*noinspection ALL*/ .imgFilmstripFill { width: 90px; height: 75px; } ul#thumb_8214 { list-style: none !important; padding: 0 !important; margin: 10px 0 0 !important; display: inline-block; width: 610px !important; } div.img8214 img { width: 600px !important; box-sizing: border-box !important; } div.img8214 > div.filmstrip_description_black { width: 600px !important; bottom : 5px !important; margin-left : 0px !important; } div.img8214 > div.filmstrip_description_black > h5 { padding: 5px !important; margin: 5px !important; margin-left:0px !important; line-height: 1.5em !important; direction: inherit; text-align: center !important; font-family: Helvetica !important; color: #ffffff !important; font-size: 16px !important; } div.img8214 > div.filmstrip_description_black > p { padding: 10px 10px 0 10px !important; margin-left:0px !important; margin-bottom:0px !important; line-height: 1.5em !important; direction: inherit; text-align: center !important; font-family: Helvetica !important; color: #ffffff !important; font-size: 12px !important; } /*noinspection ALL*/ .opactiy_thumbs { opacity: 1 !important; -moz-opacity: 1 !important; -khtml-opacity: 1 !important; } /*noinspection ALL*/ .shutter-gb-img-wrap { margin-right: 5px !important; margin-bottom: 5px !important; } .overlay_text > h5 { margin-top:10px !important; padding: 0 10px 0 10px !important; line-height: 1.5em !important; direction: inherit !important; text-align: center !important; font-family: Helvetica !important; color: #ffffff !important; font-size: 16px !important; } .overlay_text > p { padding: 10px 10px 0 10px !important; line-height: 1.5em !important; direction: inherit !important; text-align: center !important; font-family: Helvetica !important; color: #ffffff !important; font-size: 12px !important; } .pp_pic_holder.pp_default { background-color: #ffffff; } div.pp_overlay { background-color: #000000 !important; opacity: 0.6 !important; -moz-opacity: 0.6 !important; filter: alpha(opacity=0.6); } .pp_description p { direction: inherit !important; color: #ffffff !important; text-align: left !important; font-family: Helvetica !important; font-size: 12px !important; } .pp_description h5 { direction: inherit !important; color: #ffffff !important; text-align: left !important; font-family: Helvetica !important; font-size: 16px !important; } .ppt { display: none !important; } div.pp_pic_holder { border: 5px solid #ffffff !important; border-radius: 5px !important; -moz-border-radius: 5px !important; -webkit-border-radius: 5px !important; -khtml-border-radius: 5px !important; -o-border-radius: 5px !important; } Photo Credit: Jake West for Insomniac The post Factory 93 Creates The Perfect Atmosphere For Solumun+1 In Los Angeles appeared first on Deep House Amsterdam. 9. When it comes to house and techno in the Netherlands, few of those currently involved in the scene can match up with Orlando Voorn. A mainstay in Dutch electronic music since pretty much the very beginning, Voorn has left an inimitable mark on both his local scene and the global underground movement as a whole. A fierce proponent of top drawer beats, Voorn’s talent is indicative of the labels he’s repped in his time: from R&S to KMS to more contemporary outlets such as Rennie Foster’s RF (where he recently released the brilliant ‘Fix is Back’ EP), what this man doesn’t know about 4/4 basically isn’t worth knowing. A true underground legend that we’re proud to host in our backyard, this Amsterdam native continues to enthral audiences the world over. So who better than Orlando Voorn to run through some of his favourite Dutch contemporaries? And so it is that we checked in with Orlando recently, as he gave us the lowdown on some of his favourite local producers and his favourite track of theirs… Dimitri and Eric Nouhan These two have really influenced me the deliciously busy style but everything clearly beating production on the then B.E.S.T. records. Without these examples, my success Solid session would not have came out the way it is. Speedy J Speedy J really inspired me at the very beginning. That was the first time that I saw a live show with him and was impressed. A really great source of inspiration. 2000 and one 2000 & one … this track is one that you can still run. Really, honest technofunk in your face. For those who do not know Dylan hermelijn aka 2000 & one, he was the one who put me in contact with Fierce Ruling Diva … that’s how that circle came about. My first techno productions were on Lower east side records too, and later it was Jeroen Flamman who put me in touch with Juan Atkins. Steve Rachmad Nice old-fashioned Detroit Sound in an energetic jacket. Top! Steve is the man! Legowelt High-quality Detroit from the Netherlands from none other than Legowelt. Fierce Ruling Diva An underground piece here by some ones who put me on the map back in 1990. Shout out to Jeroen Flamman and Abraxis !! Tom Trago This one’s a nice soulful track from the Amsterdam house don. Dexter Nice raw electro as I like to hear them. Stuff like this also inspires me to go really fast when I am working on this style. Jaydee Far ahead of his time! I can remember that I heard the first at pirate stations. super fat track by Robin Albers. Robin was also a very important link for me with his Avros three times. doordraaien which was an important radio station. You had to mix 3 records and best once collected went into the championship . After winning the thing. We then went to UK in 1986 DMC world championship. Human Resource Prehardcore period and one of those tracks you would have to bang your head on. 10. After the experience that was The Seekers of Light during ADE, The Gardens of Babylon (TGoB) returns to the Westerunie with an early Christmas gift featuring one of its original musical family members. The dynamic duo of Britta Unders will return, almost a year to the day, for an all night affair, as an intimate gathering of TGoB family and friends. Reflecting on the success of the last year, which began at the venue with YokoO and led to a multi-date virtual takeover of this year’s Amsterdam Dance Event, TGoB reflect on those who have aided and been there since the beginning. With a larger International showing set for 2018, the Holiday gifts involve everyone. This night will be broken down into four stages, each operating within its own part of the complete TGoB experience. Kicking things off will be an intimate musical program featuring TGoB favorite Akasha, for those joining from minute 1. Then, join spiritual collective The Dreaming for the event’s signature mass meditation, as well as a special poetry reading from seminal member Karla Woo. This leads into the opening of the official “XMas Comes Early” aspect, which includes Massage, Vintage Markets, Acts & Performances, Spiritual Guidance, Cleansing, and more to lead travellers through the night and into the year ahead. By 11pm, Britta Unders takes the stage and the rest is yet to be experienced. 15 December | The Gardens of Babylon: XMas Comes Early | Tickets | WesterUnie Featured Image: Kaik Photography The post Britta Unders Brings The Gardens Of Babylon Back To Westerunie For One Year Holiday Celebrations appeared first on Deep House Amsterdam. Yesterday, eye-catching news was revealed: Sub Zero Project announced their brand new project: THE XPRMNT. In the trailer we see Sub Zero Project in the dark woods and in a vicious hospital. Also patients from the hospital and blood has been shown. The last scene closes with a hard kick when the image of the artists appears with weird made-up faces that look pretty frightening. The trailer leads to the reveal of this new live act: THE XPRMNT will kick-off in the far-away Australia, during Knockout Circuz. Sub Zero Project makes their next move Earlier this month, Sub Zero Project published their brand new track, ‘Playing With Fire‘. 12. Facebook will soon offer a select list of news publishers access to a “breaking” designation for their articles. The scarlet tag of distinction will appear below the post’s image, displaying the amount of time that has passed since the piece’s publication. The publishers with the breaking tag at their disposal will have the ability to apply the tag for anywhere between 15 minutes and six-hours, but can only use the breaking classification once every 24-hours. Facebook’s implementation of the tag seeks to show its users the most significant, recent news, designed to add urgency to the platform’s non-chronological newsfeed organization. The tag, however, will not be weighted differently in Facebook’s algorithms — for now. A spokesperson for Facebook has indicated that initial use of the breaking tag will function as a measure of whether or not breaking news stories should be algorithmically favored over other newsfeed posts. If use of the breaking tag is met with a positive reception, posts with the tag might later receive preferential temporal ordering. While Facebook has not released the full list of media entities cleared to use the breaking tag, ABC News and Vox Media will be permitted to use the exclusive tag. 16. Be Svendsen preps up his 2018 debut artist album with a 1 December release of 2017 Ibiza anthem ‘Andromeda’ via Music For Dreams. A favorite of the White Isle’s WooMoon events, this family member’s track invites the listener on an evocative journey that is far from your run of the mill club track. It dives into an analogue realm of nostalgia, with an almost rock-feel drum beat and classic analogue synth melody-line leading to a vibraphone breakdown and a drop that turns everyone on the floor into a hero. Already, ‘Andromeda’ has found support from the likes of by Pete Tong, Damian Lazarus, Lee Burridge, Black Coffee, Acid Pauli, Nico Stojan, Oliver Kolletski, Mira, Audio Fly, Sabo, Kenneth Bager, and many more with virtually all of the Danish artists work finding itself in the top ranks of charts, worlwide, as well as being premiered on the industry’s top media…like us. “Andromeda” is available 1 December on Music For Dreams PRE ORDER Soundcloud Artist Page The post WooMoon Favorite Be Svendsen Preps Artist Album With Release Of 2017 Ibiza Anthem appeared first on Deep House Amsterdam. 17. It’s almost unbelievable, but it’s oh so true. When Knockout Circuz, a hardstyle event in Australie, announced the return of Project One last year, the whole scene turned upside down. ‘The legends were finally back’ was written by many fans all over the internet. This year the event is held again and speculations about the line-up started early. When just about every name had been revealed, only ‘The Resurrected’ remained. While the name already implied many things, people couldn’t be certain until the official announcement. Could it really be? This year Showtek rose the stage during Defqon.1 Legends to play some of their all-time classics. Hardstyle was still inside of their hearts. This morning word finally got out. Showtek will play a full hardstyle set on December 16 in Sydney Australia. But that’s not all, because it’s not just 60 minutes of hardstyle, it’s 75 minutes! The organization also stated that Showtek will play not only their classics, but also new (hardstyle) material. “The most Iconic Duo of the Hard Dance Scene return to their roots. For 75mins of pure Hardstyle.” The post Showtek surprises with 75 minutes of hardstyle is visible on Hard News. Source: Hard News

9. Sortie de l’album ‘Sabotage’ d’Act of Rage Act of Rage présentera son numéro en public spécial Sabotage, mais sortira également son album lors de Shockerz.
