  1. When Armin van Buuren hit the Psy-Trance scene with the blistering ‘Great Spirit’ (with Vini Vici), many felt it would only be a matter of time before the five-time #1 DJ in the world would subject the global dance music movement to a record of similar magnitude and style. That moment has officially arrived today. Released on Armada Music, ‘Blah Blah Blah’ proves a telling precursor of what’s to come from Armin van Buuren’s forthcoming ‘Blah Blah Blah EP’, which is available for pre-order now and includes ‘The Last Dancer’, ‘Just As You Are’ (as Rising Star) and ‘Popcorn’. Listen here From the foreboding intro with the iconic lyrics to the devastating kick-bass combo, ‘Blah Blah Blah’ has been staking its claim as a main stage staple since its premiere at Ultra Music Festival 2018 in Miami. A buster of speakers and inducer of carnage, this track has fans going wild from Miami to Amsterdam to Sydney and back. When asked about the inspiration for his second, devastatingly powerful Psy-Trance tune, Armin van Buuren said: “Blah Blah Blah Blah Blah Blah Blah Blah Blah Blah Blah Blah Blah ‘Blah Blah Blah’ Blah Blah Blah Blah Blah Blah Blah Blah Blah Blah Blah. Blah Blah Blah Blah Blah Blah Blah Blah Blah Blah Blah Blah Blah Blah Blah Blah Blah Blah Blah Blah ‘Blah Blah Blah’ Blah Blah Blah Blah.”
  2. NYC’s subway buskers turned Beyonce collaborators Too Many Zooz and UK producer KDA have called upon the production talents of Armand Van Helden for a club-primed rework of Warriors. The original, featuring UK #1 producer KDA, has been played 45 times by Radio 1, was Annie Mac’s Hottest Record In The World, featured as the official track for London Pride, and has surpassed 1 million streams on Spotify. With a fresh new remix on the cards courtesy of Armand Van Helden, Warriors is poised to be elevated to new heights over the coming months. Too Many Zooz started off life as buskers on NYC’s long and winding subway system. Fast-forward just a few years and the brass-house trio have reached heights they never thought possible: from guesting on Beyonce’s Lemonade to selling out shows in the blink of an eye across Europe and the US. Composed of dancing sax wizard, Leo P, the ferocious percussionist King of Sludge and nimble-fingered trumpeter Matt Doe, Too Many Zooz are getting bigger and bigger. Hard on the heels of playing Good Morning Britain last month, there’s seemingly no end to the NYC trio’s meteoric success. KDA is a South London boy who has an equally impressive command of the commercial realm as he does the underground. He’s the name behind the UK#1, Platinum certified single Turn the Music Louder featuring Katy B and Tinie Tempah, as well as Just Say with Tinashe and the socially conscious new underground dance single Hate Me. His first-hand experience of London’s underground club culture has cemented KDA as a highly regarded dance music authority. His DJ support is an endless list of equally varied tastemakers including the likes of Jackmaster, Seth Troxler, Black Madonna and Jamie Jones. With over 20 years’ experience as one of the world’s most in demand DJs, Armand Van Helden is a name that needs little introduction. The Boston-born dance music authority has dominated the charts with singles ‘Witch Doktor’ in 1997, ‘You Don’t Know Me’ back in 1999, and ‘My My My’ in 2005. He’s released countless club tracks, old and new, that continue to leave their unmistakable mark on the dance music world. Whether he’s DJing the world’s biggest dance spaces or hard at work in his natural habitat, the studio, Armand Van Helden’s talent and reputation is unparalleled. “Armand has such a creative way of bringing new shapes and colors out of a song, and he did this brilliantly on the Warrior’s remix. It reminds us of those old UK dance records that we love, with that familiar charming energy of the kick and hats mixed with resonant filter sweeps on the trumpets and saxes. Two words: BIG CHUNE!!!!!!!” - MATT Armand Van Helden’s dance-floor ready remix of Warriors demonstrates all the hallmarks of a club classic. Replete with gargantuan 909 four to the floor beats and deep, billowing basses that underpin Too Many Zooz’ and KDA’s unmistakable ‘brass-house’ sound, the Boston dance music aficionado has provided a heady remix worthy to be played in the world’s most esteemed club spaces. Too Many Zooz VS KDA – Warriors (Armand Van Helden Remix) is out on 17th August 2018 via Ministry Of Sound. I’m truly excited to share my passion for producing music and DJing in my MasterClass,” said Armin van Buuren, MasterClass instructor. “It’s the first time I get to show you my secrets and tips, and everything I’ve learned in my twenty years in this business.”   “Armin is an international icon of dance music. Despite his musical genius, he has stayed humble, hard-working, earnestly connected to his fans, and has never lost sight of the joy in his work. His passion for teaching is infectious. There really is an art and science to making people dance — it has to do with sculpting sound, mixing, and arranging songs for maximum impact — that’s Armin’s mastery, and he’s certainly one of the best to ever do it,” said David Rogier, CEO and Co-Founder of MasterClass. MasterClass is an online education company which provides classes from world-renowned instructors, making it possible for anyone to learn from the best. 7. Whether viewers are Viceland or dance music fans, the network’s\ comedy “What Would Diplo Do?” certainly made waves in the media for its over the top humor and parody of the dance music scene. James Van Der Beek was cast to portray Diplo, and did a great job at making it seem like the producer didn’t have a whole lot going on upstairs. Before the show’s release, Thomas Wesley Pentz, better known as Diplo, opened Van Der Beek’s portrayal of himself with open arms. After the show’s conclusion, Pentz, who is also an executive producer on the show, has expressed a different sentiment. “It hurt to watch it the first time,” the musician admitted to Rolling Stone. “It made my stomach twist.” Later on in the interview, Pentz reiterated he was open to the public ridicule. “I think that James plays a really funny Diplo. He’s doing his best, but he (the character)’s just an idiot. I don’t mind being ridiculed.” While Diplo was great about promoting the show and taking its humor in stride, even he admits that the portrayal of himself was a little more difficult to swallow than he publicly made it seem. 8. Anticipated since Armin van Buuren himself announced its forthcoming arrival during the 14-hour-long, ADE special of A State of Trance (episode 836), the anthem for the A State Of Trance 850 world tour is finally here. This year’s theme and mission: “Be In The Moment“. The sonic embodiment of ASOT 850’s empowering message, “Be In the Moment” was premiered at Ultra Mexico by Armin van Buuren himself and sees the electronic music icon conjure up a Trance-flavored dream world no fan can resist. Spiked with intense atmospheres and stellar builds, this record captures the very essence of what Trance fans so desire: to “Be In the Moment” and embrace the music, here and now. Tracklist 01 Armin van Buuren – Be In The Moment (ASOT 850 Anthem) [Extended Mix] Get your copy here: https://asot448.lnk.to/AVBBITMPR The release of this scorching anthem follows the unveiling of the first part of the line-up for A State Of Trance 850 in Utrecht, the Netherlands. 9. In the world of bass music, sets longer than two hours are basically unheard of (unless you play drum & bass, and then the cut off is around 6 hours, but even then, only if you’re Andy C). Still, in the world of marathon sets, no one can beat house and trance DJs. The nature of the music itself allows DJs to play around with singular tracks for a longer time, phasing in and out, teasing new tracks, bringing old tracks back in… there’s an art to it. In honor of ADE, and for the 836th episode of A State Of Trance, Armada boss Armin van Buuren is live streaming for 14 hours straight in what we have to assume at this point is a complete trance. (Heh, get it?) Other artists will also play during the stream, including Aly & Fila. Watch it all below!   Photo via Rukes.com This article was first published on Your EDM. 10. Bridging the gap between “Stronger Together” – his late summer Beatport #1 and this month’s delivery of his eighth artist album, today Paul van Dyk serves “From Then On“s final single trailblazer. Operating on one level as a vintage slice of serotonin-homing, primetime van Dyk, “I Am Alive”s genesis does hold a deeper meaning for Paul. The track was the first song he recorded following his accident in the spring of last year. If, in that knowledge. you sense a degree more vitality running through its melodic arteries, perceive a touch more percussive skip to its step or hear just that bit more joie de vivre in its surrounding ether, well unlikely your feelings are deceiving you. Threaded throughout are seismically registering 4/4 kicks and charged LFO – both of which bring “I Am Alive” its substantial floor traction. Heartfelt harmonies induce deeper yet states of emotion, while further up the scale its pads & chords develop less apparent, more complex atmospheres. At its top end meanwhile, “I Am Alive”s sub & main melodies radiate nothing but outright “lust for life” optimism. Tracklist 01 Paul van Dyk – I Am Alive A “release” for Paul in at least two senses of the word and a triumph of the human spirit no less, “I Am Alive” isn’t about survive… it’s about thrive. You can find it available to purchase through Beatport here from today. paulvandyk.com facebook.com/paulvandyk twitter.com/paulvandyk instagram.com/paulvandyk soundcloud.com/paulvandykofficial vandit.com soundcloud.com/vanditrecords Source: Trance Family
  11. When Armin van Buuren hit the Amsterdam ArenA with his biggest solo show to date in May this year, fans couldn’t believe their luck. It was everything they had ever dreamt of, a gathering of 80,000 fans from 97 different countries, all ready to become one with their idol amidst torrential lasers, two-thousand blasts of fireworks and over four hours of the music they love. It was a once-in-a-lifetime happening that shot straight into their hearts and that wonderful feeling, that unparalleled experience, just hit YouTube in the form of a 19-minute video. Encapsulating the biggest moments of ‘The Best Of Armin Only’ with memorable guest performances (e.g. Gavin DeGraw, Mr. Probz, Trevor Guthrie, Kensington, Christian Burns, Laura Jansen, Betsie Larkin, Susana, BullySongs), the 19-minute video captures every inch of the show’s magic, from the thrilling intro to the breathtaking stage design and Armin van Buuren’s timeless classics. It shows just how powerful the synergy between Armin van Buuren and his fans is and makes undeniably clear that Armin van Buuren’s solo shows will go down in history as scene-defining happenings. Armin van Buuren: “When I saw this video for the first time, it immediately felt like I was right there in the heat of the moment. Corrino did an amazing job with the live registration of the show as well as with this edit and I hope this will help my fans either relive the wonderful time we had together in the Amsterdam ArenA or dive into the show for the first time as if they were right there in person.” Listen, buy or download the “The Best Of Armin Only” compilation here: https://AvB.lnk.to/TBOAOYA www.arminvanbuuren.com www.armadamusic.com http://trance-family.com
  12. To celebrate the release of his eighth artist album, Paul van Dyk is set to bring fans a one-off, never-to-be-repeated live experience. One week ahead of ‘From Then On’s release, Paul will unite album preview & album retrospective in one extraordinary, unforgettable night of PvDism. Programmed exclusively for the night of Saturday October 14th, Paul’s extended set will passage from his earliest album moments to his most recent. “45rpm” to “From Then On”, and all points “Out There And Back” & “In Between”, it promises to be an event no self-respecting PvD fan will want to miss… or ever forget. From Then On’s Berlin show will take place at the city’s 1Straulau club. Perched on the picturesque banks of the River Spree and generations-deep in Berlin’s rich industrial history, its Factory-esque walls and vaulted attic roofs will provide the most atmospheric of settings for Paul to introduce his new album. Handpicked for its intimacy and exclusivity, capacity at 1Stralau is limited, thus early bird ticketing for fans is recommended. DJ support comes from fellow Berliner Chris Bekker, who’ll be bringing his inimitable prog-trance edge to proceedings. With tickets for the night on sale now, you can secure your entrance here, through Hekticket.de. In other news, hot from the “From Then On” front, pre-order activities for Paul’s new long-player begin this week. With it track-clip video freshly online, now’s the time to take a closer look at what ‘From Then On’ holds musically in store. Following “The Politics Of Dancing 3″s “City of Sound”, Paul & Jordan Suckley have regrouped in tenacious form for “The Code”. Similarly, Paul & Alex M.O.R.P.H. also take the chance to follow-up last year’s Beatport record-breaking chart topper “We Are” with the every bit as persuasive “Breaking Dawn”. Over the last 18 months, VANDIT’s talent pool has swelled again, coming to include many a fresh international production face. Among them are Goodgreef UK’s resident James Cottle, Namibia’s Pierre Pienaar, upcoming Italian maestro Emanuele Braveri and the Texan born-&-based Leroy Moreno. Stage by album stage, each artist takes their turn to collaborate with the VANDIT chief. Respectively the results range from the surging anthemia of “Vortex” & “Stronger Together”, the vocal enrichment of the Rebecca Louise Burch-sung “Escape Reality Tonight” and the apex-scaling elevation of the album’s title track (and most recent single) “From Then On”. In the most literal sense, the album overtures with “While You Were Gone”, PvD’s collaboration with Grammy nominated composer and celebrated concert pianist Vincent Corver. Given their shared time on Planet Trance, a PvD co-production with either M.I.K.E. Push or Fred Baker could be considered long overdue. Making up for lost time, all three production hands are put to the higher trance atmospheres of “Inhale”. Unaccompanied, Paul applies pedal-to-floor-metal with “I Am Alive” and the album’s opening single, “Touched By Heaven”. Whilst in closing, he delivers a work of cooler, more progressive natures, with its denouement number, “Safe Haven”. Tracklist 01 While You Were Gone (w/ Vincent Corver) 02 Inhale (w/ M.I.K.E. Push & Fred Baker) 03 Touched By Heaven 04 I Am Alive 05 Everyone Needs Love (w/ Ronald van Gelderen ft. Gaelan & Eric Lumiere) 06 Breaking Dawn (w/ Alex M.O.R.P.H.) 07 Vortex (w/ James Cottle) 08 The Code (w/ Jordan Suckley) 09 Stronger Together (w/ Pierre Pienaar) 10 From Then On (w/ Leroy Moreno) 11 Fairytales (w/ Steve Allen) 12 Close Call (w/ Tristan D) 13 Escape Reality Tonight (w/ Emanuele Braveri ft. Rebecca Louise Burch) 14 Safe Haven An album brilliantly acquitted over 14 tracks with typically PvD-ish verve, energy and futurism, “From Then On” is released on October 20th and is available to pre-order here. paulvandyk.com facebook.com/paulvandyk twitter.com/paulvandyk instagram.com/paulvandyk soundcloud.com/paulvandykofficial vandit.com soundcloud.com/vanditrecords http://trance-family.com
  13. After the blistering first tastes of his new Purple Haze project on previous singles Contrast and Neiloj, the mighty Sander van Doorn presents the final taster from his alter ego before he unleashes its debut album on October 9th. Choir 1.0 is here and it’s a monster of a track. This enormous anthem takes the essence of what makes Sander’s music great—melody, emotion, groove, power and atmospherics—and filters it through the refined prism of his new split personality. Get it here – https://purplehaze.lnk.to/Choir A dramatic percussive fill announces the track’s arrival, and immediately the strong melodic content is centre stage, with delicate plucked and digital synthesis arpeggios doing battle with each other and muted chords building a euphoric progression. A bold, pulsing lead lead line cuts through the track to heighten the tension before the arps really let loose. Trance energy filters up for the build, slamming us into gently driving live percussive rhythms, the spine-tingling riffs building and building further. Yet another synth sound is drafted in for the main break, a vocal choir style synth that gives the track its title and provides a brief respite from the intense musicality of the track. A huge swathe of synths blasts into its way, and after more melodic teasing we’re rewarded with a hugely satisfying drop. No excessive FX and never-ending reverbs: just an impressive variety of strong, rousing melodies ebbing and flowing to varying levels of intensity. It makes for one hell of a four-minute ride. Choir 1.0 precedes the full-length Purple Haze debut album, which drops to much anticipation on October 9th. On the strength of this and the previous two singles, it’s going to be something truly special. Tickets for the Purple Haze Album Release Party during ADE are available here. Purple Haze ‘Choir 1.0’ is released via DOORN Records on September 4. Check out Choir 1.0 via your favorite streaming partner here: https://PurpleHaze.lnk.to/Choir and expect the official video on September 11th.
